TheReader Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Good morning! yesterday, not sure I ever updated, I did get my room tidied up. Today I need to do the area around my "desk." Then I have our Teacher's Lunch for end of the year at our co-op, and hopefully meet up with a mom from this past year to return her cupcake carriers, while I'm on that side of town. This afternoon, I'd like to do some organizing/planning in my sewing room. Also need to answer a few emails (2), and work on laundry. My Mother's Day Celebration was great; the guys made raviolis with 3 fillings and 2 sauces, and they gave me a great set of colored pens, coloring books, and a coupon book with things like "mother/son time", "mom picks the movie", "mom can skip the movie", etc. So fun! (I hinted *heavily* that I'd love something like that....). I think we have a break in the rain today, at least, so that's good for the driving. On the flip side, my internet is being wonky so may need to deal with that. 2 Quote
TheReader Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Okay, DH reset the modem and that fixed the internet. Whew! 2 Quote
TheReader Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Cleaned the area around my "desk." Started a load of laundry, and hung up the jeans waiting in the dryer. About time to go check if it's ready to swap over. Replied to one of the 2 emails; I'm still thinking through exactly *how* to reply to the other one (I know the answer, but how to word it....ugh). 2 Quote
SKL Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Today's a deadline day, both government and investor. Done: Laundry in the wee hours. Kids off to school on time, yay! Some pup stuff and dish washing. Caught up on emails, news, social media, calendar, and checked the kids' grades. A little bit of client work. To do: Client work: One big investor report that's unofficially overdue. Check which other investor reports are due today, and do them. Check the status of a government web app that hasn't been working. A few other hopefully small things. 2 tax extensions for my family members. 2 online tax returns for nonprofits I co-manage. Pay bills. Kids - just bring them home and make them do their homework, housework, pup duty. Walk the pup and put him to bed. Whatever else gets done. 3 Quote
TheReader Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Home from my teacher lunch, and dropped off the cupcake carriers/visited with that mom, which was nice. Our teacher lunch was good. I got the load switched from washer to dryer, and another load in the wash -- need to run up and fold/swap that, but going to grab a snack/drink and do some paperwork first. Also rescued a bird from our cat before I left. :sigh: 2 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Home from tutoring. Long day! Did a bit of tidying up and folded some laundry. About to heat up some dinner and then sit down to do a bunch of computer chores. 2 Quote
TheReader Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Folded/hung up the laundry from the dryer. Moved the laundry from the washer to the dryer. (those are all kids' clothes so they get to put away) Did all the paperwork chores I had (enter new registrations, record their supply fee checks, etc.) -- still need to add/tweak the email contact list for the next school year, but that is tomorrow's chore. printed the yardage requirements for the next quilt project, and checked the fabric I have to be sure I have enough. May need to tweak that a little also, we shall see. Sorting out leftovers for dinner. 2 Quote
mom31257 Posted May 18, 2021 Author Posted May 18, 2021 Good evening! The party was great! The kids did some good projects, we ate, and played a few games. I did the other errands and came home and purged some books in the garage (still working in random places. LOL!) We have dates set to have a garbage container brought out and to get the carpets cleaned next week. The realtor comes that Saturday. We have friends who own a commercial garbage service, and they are giving us a container for free. We have some old furniture, old basketball goal, and an old TV we want to get rid of, and we don't own a truck. So it's helpful! 2 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 (edited) Got a quick supper and a short walk. Then took Ds to Scouts. Waiting for Dd to be done with rehearsal. 15 mins late already. I suspect I will not have much time or energy for deskwork when I get home. But it really, really needs to be done. eta: Got a few small things done. Headed to bed. TheReader Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 DH made spaghetti noodles from the leftover ravioli dough, I made a butter-garlic sauce for it and cooked some spinach-feta-sausage we had, and there was dinner. Then got the "made its way back from Brazil to us" baby clothes to a neighbor, whose coworker just discovered she's 7.5 months pregnant, and *today* found out it's a boy (and tomorrow my neighbor was going to try and squeeze in a shopping trip for a gift, between taking her Dad for an MRI an hour away.....). So that was cool. Watching some TV while I veg out. 1 Quote
