mom31257 Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 (edited) Good afternoon! I hit the ground running and never started this. I don't see another, so here we go. My dad had a fall on Wednesday (getting up from the chair and fell on his behind), and he went to therapy that day and told them. He got to hurting more and more and went to the ER today. Turns out he has a couple of cracked ribs. He says he is fine to stay there without us because he's already feeling some better just taking tylenol. My closest to him sister is keeping a check and will go if he needs her, and my other sister comes down to TN later this week. To Do: meals (breakfast and lunch done, dinner might be out since ds is working) sorting through lots of pictures (already doing it) cleaning/organizing grocery list grocery shopping watch The Crown play a game Edited May 16, 2021 by mom31257 3 Quote

KungFuPanda Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 I did meat processing. You know, when you buy those family-sized packs of meat, throw them in the fridge, but have to break them into reasonable portions for the freezer? I froze several pounds each of ground beef, chicken thighs, and chicken breasts. I also froze a mondo big ziti I made the other day. Only Dh and I are eating the leftovers an it's enough already. I used this NYT recipe video and added a pound of hot Italian sausage, so the thing weighed about 50 pounds. I also made a big bowl of potato salad to have with our cheeseburgers later. I'll probably alternate reading my book and messing around in the garden today. I have most of my off-site vegetable garden, planted so the hardest part is done. I need to find homes for some of these flowers I started from seed and to find foster homes for all of these extra plants. I also need to remind myself to reign it in next year. 3 Quote
Harriet Vane Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Hi all Slow start today. Had to deal with some wedding stuff with dd. Went to the grocery store. Now my biggest tasks are to bake brownies and sort as many boxes as I can. I have baked several pans of brownies amd blondies, but the middle ends up dense and gooey (underbaked) no matter what I do. I’ve never had so much trouble with baking. Trying a different recipe. 3 Quote
mom31257 Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 @math teacher, going to the beach sounds fun! @KungFuPanda, welcome to the tackle thread! @Harriet Vane, how long is it until the wedding? Dh and I watched an episode of Madam Secretary. We've been going through that, but I never know when he'll be in the mood to watch an episode. I need to get to the grocery store because we take breakfast to Sunday School in the morning. 3 Quote
Harriet Vane Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 @mom31257 Dd is getting married in two weeks, over the holiday weekend. Dd doesn’t want a cake, so I am baking hundreds of cookies. I am also making masks for the wedding party. Busy with many details. 🙂 2 Quote

ScoutTN Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 Hi y’all, Today I got Ds up and out to a Scout conservation project, went to the Farmers’ market, did two other quick errands on that side of town, took some things to a friend and stayed to visit, helped Dd clean out and reorganize her closet, and went to a graduation party for my nephew. About to go read my book. Need to remind Ds to shower. 2 Quote
