Covid toe after vaccine?

Dh had his second shot weeks ago. About 5 days ago he developed a purplish red rash on his toes. I told him it looked like COVID toe. He called into his doctor who said he’s seeing quite a few cases but I don’t think he told dh whether it was after Covid or vaccine. Pretty sure we had COVID go through our house months ago. Just wondering if this is a thing.

Could also be a recurring symptom of long COVID.
