Good morning!

Today is ds' 18th birthday! We will celebrate tonight because dh is at work and I'm headed out to the big book sale. I hate to do it today, but it is the only one I'm aware of in a  100 mile radius. I really need to sell some of this stuff.  And I'm going with my best friend, so it's a day with her. I have some decorations up and have good food and desserts for him today while I'm gone.

I don't really have a list because it's just go to the sale and then celebrate. I hope you all have a fabulous Friday!!

@TheReader, I assumed ds' test is today. I hope he does well!

Amy, Happy Birthday to your DS! I'm sure he'll enjoy it and understand that you are selling books. Have fun with that, too!

And the DS did his test last night (all online, so they just hop on when they're ready) -- he got an 80!!!! Wahoo! (this is *very good* for how he's been doing in that class....) Next up, study study study for the actual final.

Scout, wowsa, a 22 mile bike ride?? Best of luck for him!

 My day today is:
...no 5 yr old (she had a fever on Weds, and they cancelled)
...prep for what lessons we do need to do on our last day Monday
....make the food shopping list for the party (I finished assembling the goody bags last night)

....be available if DS needs help making his power point for his geography project
....make sure the 20 yr old works on his computer projects (due Saturday night I think)
...finish all the leftovers for dinner
....sewing time for me today/tonight, the guys have a new video game out tonight so they've already "warned me" to expect time to myself tonight

Should be a relatively light/easy/fun day.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Howdie, happy Friday!

I'm stressed out!  Here are some reasons.

  • Not sure if the dog ate his favorite toy yesterday.  Can't find it, but he's acting normal so far.  I'm on dog duty today until 1pm, so I am watching for signs.
  • So many work things that are either due or overdue.  So I really can't afford another pup emergency today.
  • I have a conference call to discuss a really complex matter that I'm supposed to understand.
  • My kid and my friend are not feeling great, and I don't think it's anything, but what if it is....
  • Other kid is so far behind in a couple classes.  The 4th quarter is half over and she's had only 1 week of normal attendance, thanks to a field trip, quarantine, and test make-ups.  The teachers aren't giving her much help or grace.  There's not much I can do about it, and honestly, I'm too tired to teach my kid algebra on a Chromebook at night.  (I know, cry me a river.)  She also had 3 state tests this week (algebra, history, biology), and she isn't sure whether she passed.  If not, she'll have to re-take at least one of them, as it's a graduation requirement.

Well anyway, onward and upward.

Done:

  • Pup duty started around 6am.  Went looking for Ducky, the beloved missing toy.  Also washed a couple loads of pup laundry.
  • Drove the kids to school on time, yay!
  • A little house cleaning.
  • Caught up on emails, calendar, social media, news, and checked the kids' grades.
  • Coffeeing up.

To do:

  • Lots of client work & conference call, ugh!!
  • Probably 1 more load of laundry?
  • Personal and work organization / filing to make sure I don't forget anything important.
  • Was hoping to take the dog to the park, but let's see ....
  • Kid driving & making them do things.
  • Dinner out.
  • Whatever else gets done.

@ScoutTN, 22 miles seems a lot to an old woman, but I’m sure it will be great for him.
@TheReader, thank you and I’m glad he did well!
@SKL, I hope the puppy is okay, and I hope you get some stress relief!

So, possibly great news! Dh got an email about an interview. It’s actually the county I was living in when we started dating, where my parents grew up, and where my mother and grandparents are buried. Great access to my dad, too. The only hiccup is they don’t participate in social security. If he’s offered the job, we’ll have to figure out what that means. We would probably try to live up in TN because it’s so close.

So they sent Kid2 home from school.  She has what appears to be a migraine.

Pup is still acting normal so far.

I got maybe 5 minutes of work done.

I have a headache and feel like a panic attack is trying to build up.

First world problems really.

Well, I'm as prepped as I can get for K/1st on Monday -- the printer has decided it's done with the current black cartridge. I'm so tired of that -- everyone said switch to a laser printer, the toner cartridges last so much longer. They do not (I get about 2 months of printing per black cartridge). Granted, I'm printing for 22 students every week, and printing sometimes several pages for each kid, but still. Overall the printer is a lot better.....but, ugh. It's expensive to burn through that much ink/toner.

Anyway, everything is planned and ready, except for printing the memory book pages, once I get the next cartridge in.

Survived the conference call, barely.

Our pup busted out of his outdoor kennel.  I used a couple extra dog collars to secure the door better, but we need to work on a longer-term solution.

It's almost time to go get Kid1 from school.  Still nowhere near where I should be on client work.  Also really want a shower!

ate lunch, took a brief "nap", still hungry, so grabbing triscuits/cheese and a coffee and then will go make sure DS is started on his power point, and 20 yr old is working on computer, and be around for all of that

I’m back home. Dh has a virtual interview Wednesday. There might be some coaching involved, which he has limited experience with. Hope that won’t hurt his chances.

I sold almost $200 worth of books, so it was worth going. And I had a fun time!

Ds wants sushi tonight.

Changed dinner to burgers. All the stuff is there. Other people can cook!

Dropping Dd at home and headed to Walmart for a couple things for Ds’ ride.

22 miles is a long ride! Scout badges are earned

Helped DS with his geography project. He and DH did not get as far as I had thought, so we did not get as far as I had hoped. We did have fun though, and after 2.5 hours, enough is enough. We have all weekend to work on just this.

20 yr old is slogging through computers.

Dinner is finishing up leftovers, 2nd load of sheets is in the dryer (I can only take partial credit; DH started both loads, moved the 1st one, I folded the 1st one & moved the 2nd one).

Time to relax! Have a good evening everyone!

Got what I needed at Walmart.

Burgers were good!

Emailed hw to a tutoring student.

There is real work I should do, but I am going listen to a podcast while folding laundry, then just read and relax.
