I will look into this in the next couple of days, and let you know what I find out.  --Helpdesk

Update:  I looked (via my civilian account) at which ads of yours I can see and which I cannot, and I can't find any older than 30ish days...  By "ancient" were you referring to these or to other ones that I can't see?

I have a couple of settings I am going to play with ... one will automatically expunge from the system after 30 days of posting any ads marked "completed." It will likely be the easiest way for you to get the ads off the system, to mark them completed.

If I am completely missing the point, let me know. I haven't worked much with the Sale and Swap board OR with the controls on the Forums, so I'm learning and making improvements as we go along.

I think the auto-expunging of completed ads would work.

I think the ads auto-renew many times before becoming expired. For example, the below listing was posted in 2018 but still has 10 days left? Those books are long gone, lol.

Another problem I'm now seeing: you cannot mark an ad as Completed unless you select/attach a buyer's name. Many of my items sold off-forum and it won't let me just attach my own name.

Hiya. Did tech support have any helpful solutions?

This one is turning out to be more complicated than usual.  It's a long story.  Anyway, I'm not ignoring you, but it's going to take some time to track down who to talk to about this one.  --Helpdesk

UPDATE (finally--embarrassed): Users can't delete their ads; the way to close them down to inquiries is to mark the item "sold."

I GUESS that the reason the items can't be deleted is to allow shoppers and sellers to see what price points work and which ones don't, but don't quote me on that.
