Good morning!

The usuals are done, and I don't have any of my Zoom classes today. One class ended last week, and most of my other three classes' students are doing our homeschool group standardized testing this week. We'll start back next Monday and have two weeks of extra math and a project.

I cleaned yesterday but not my originally intended areas. Our hall linen closet is actually a school/art/science supply closet, so I started cleaning it out last night. I got through all but the items on the floor. I threw quite a bit away and will give away some of it, too. It's weird thinking that I don't need much of it anymore, even though some of it I haven't needed since ds was younger.

  • lunch out with a friend, dinner here
  • go by bank while out
  • school with ds
  • finish the closet
  • clean out more elsewhere (a friend is having a neighborhood yard sale Saturday and invited me to bring things to her house)
  • watch more Shtisel
  • look over tutoring for tomorrow

Good morning!!
I hear we'll hit 80 today!  ❤️

Skipped coffee for tea today - we'll see if I can hold the line all day.
The peeps went to the gym this AM - came home wound up and raring to go.  Rethinking the no coffee decision.

Phone calls:
Tent rental place - open today?
Alterations lady - arrange pickup of dresses
T-shirt place - are the senior shirts ready to pick up?

School Lite
Plant daisies and sunflowers
Supervise the following: Put down first layer of brick wall.  Divide rocks from mulch.

Uncle called - hiring two teens to pick up rocks next week, must finish the patio project this week!
Supper: Cabbage roll casserole - pick up cabbage

Howdy, busy day today!  And stressful!

Kid2 was sent home from school because she said she had a headache.  She can return tomorrow if she has no headache / other symptoms.  She is bummed because her teachers were going to do test review.  They have at least 3 standardized tests this week that impact their ability to graduate.  (Kid1 in quarantine will have to take a make-up at some point.)  Both kids also have a ton of homework / make-up work to submit.

I am going to have at least 3 or 4 client conference calls regarding a new requirement the government just emailed about last Friday.  The clients have until this Friday to complete a new report.  So ridiculous.  It took the government 3+ months to fix their system error and they are giving us 5 business days, with no advance warning, to submit reports.

I have at least 2 big accounting packages to complete and submit today.  I really don't know how much time it's going to take.  Hopefully I've done enough over the year that it won't be impossible.

And the maids are coming at 4:30, which means I have a lot of cleaning, distraction, and disruption in my near future.

Other than that, it's a great day!

Done:

  • Had a hard time sleeping until 4:something, so I decided not to wake up early.
  • Drove Kid2 to school.
  • Drove back to pick Kid2 up from school.
  • Gave the kids instructions for today.
  • Cleaned my bedroom.
  • Made a vet appointment since they won't let me buy prevention tablets unless they personally weigh the pup.  (The order I placed yesterday is cancelled.)
  • Caught up on calendar, emails, news, calendar, and checked the kids' grades.
  • Working on coffee 2.

To do:

  • Lots of client work.  And conference calls, ugh!!
  • Clean the house.
  • Make the kids do their school work, clean their rooms, stay on top of pup duty.
  • Deal with the maids.
  • Hopefully exercise.
  • Hopefully catch up on laundry.
  • Whatever I'm forgetting!

Kelly, how close is the wedding?

SKL, sorry for the stress and rushed deadlines. Hoping it all goes well!

Has anyone heard from Christina? I hoping she is doing well.

I got everything else out of the closet, and I've put some essentials back in (far less than was there). I wish I had taken a before picture. Every shelf was packed. I'm still sorting through some of what I took out and making decisions.

I have to get out the door soon for my lunch meeting.

I'm not mad because they sent my kid home from school, but I am annoyed that they called me hours later to tell me my kid was absent and I needed to call them and tell them why.  😛  I know, first world problems ....

Kid1's PCR test came back negative.

I got some work done, but not the 2 big things I promised "by today."  The government's thing and the kids' stuff have been taking up my whole day so far.

Still time to get them out tonight though.

Life is overwhelming me right now! Too much to do and some very stressful relationships.

Done:

All camping gear cleaned and put away.

Some AHG things. Many, many more to do!

5 or 6 phone calls

Culled my inbox.

Signed a release form and emailed it.

BSA health form updated for Ds.

Talked with mom briefly. She’s annoyed that I don’t have time to  do some things for her.

Lots of calendar/schedule planning.

Ds to and from school.

Dinner is chili (from the freezer) and polenta.

To do:

Breathe. Pray. Think. Make lists!

Take a walk?

Order a label maker. ✔️

Ds to Scouts ✔️

Read.

Listen to a podcast? ✔️

SKL, I'm glad her test was negative.

Scout, I'm so sorry for the stress and difficult relationships. Praying for you, friend!

The friend who invited me to lunch wanted to ask me a lot of questions before I am done homeschooling and possibly move away.

I've sort of become the guidance counselor for our local group and am hosting another high school workshop next week. She mentioned that she would pay me to do this for her, and I had already been thinking about offering a service to homeschoolers. I'm thinking I could keep a record of the grades, figure the GPA, produce a transcript, write course descriptions, put together the portfolio (4 year GA colleges require one of homeschoolers), and even alert them to dates to file FAFSA, register for the SAT, etc. It's something to consider. I would really enjoy doing it. I'm just not sure the price point for it, though.

Ahhh, trying not to be angry right now, but really???

In scheduling the workshop I mentioned above, I originally was going to do it in the evening so dads could watch kids. A lady who wanted to attend works in the evening, so she volunteered her 8th grade dd to watch kids on the playground so I might could do it earlier in the day.  I scheduled it for 4:00 and advertised that her dd will watch the kids during the meeting. Several have responded they are coming. Now she tells me she wants the dd to attend the meeting. 😒
