Michelle T
DS is 11.5. Just not into science at all. History is more his bag. He does NOT like doing hands-on activities. He likes interesting reading, and pictures. But not computer curriculum. Definitely prefer a non religious curriculum. Is there anything out there that is really easy to teach, interesting reading, and a DVD that shows the experiments being done? I think Sonlight has such DVD's, but I'm wondering if there is any other science curriculum similar. Michelle T
Jenny in Atl
Prentice Hall Science Explorers .. you can skip the experiments and still learn a bunch
Patricia in WA
I second PH. My 11 and 9 yr old read the section, take notes and answer the questions. Then they complete the workbook pages. They do the experiments themselves because they want to. It doesn't in any way involve mom because she just couldn't be bothered. I did get them a kit at their request to supplement PH. mcconnellboys
I also like Prentice Hall, but you don't have to use a textbook. I believe WTM has plenty of recs for living books on various science topics. Just read living books and watch science DVD's, etc. Regena
LisaNY
I agree w/the others here. PH would be a good fit for your ds. I am very, very happy with this text.
