Good morning!

So, I ate more sugar yesterday and did the same thing. I woke up feeling on edge. I read an article that if you have anxiety food-triggered shifts in blood sugar can make it worse. So I'm going to really cut back on sugar and try to eat healthier and see if that doesn't help me. I need to anyway.  I ate a good protein breakfast but still feel a little off. Hopefully it will improve as the day goes on.

The rain has started here, We may have storms later in the day.

  • tidy house
  • prep for my in person students next week
  • prep for my Zoom sessions (plan rest of the year)
  • watch more Shtisel
  • clean our bedroom and bathroom
  • help ds with chemistry
  • get ds to clean out his closet

Kelly, I have not tried any of those. I did lose some weight a few years ago by watching carbs, but I never did an extreme diet with them. I basically tried to keep a balance of eating 15-25 carbs per meal and keeping my whole day under 90-100 including snacks. When I knew I was going to eat a meal higher in carbs, I would go really low the other meals of the day. I quit paying attention to it and have eaten what I wanted. I've gained the weight back on top of being in menopause and having a stressful year. I am going to try that again and see if I can't lose the weight and feel better.

I have felt better as the day has gone by.

That's so interesting about the food-induced sugar spike being a thing that worsens anxiety; I'll have to pass that along to my really anxious kiddo and make sure he knows that.

I don't normally check in on weekends, but I have a LOT to do so this will help  me stay on track. Hopefully.

I need to:
....coffee
....finish getting everything ready for Monday (including printing/filing/etc)
....make sure 20 yr old stays on top of all of his stuff
....LAUNDRY (1 load put away, 1 load in dryer, 2nd load in wash now)

....stain the patio chair DH built
....DH is supervising the leaf project for DS
....dinner is marinating (gyros), and we already had lunch

....probably I'm forgetting something....this doesn't seem like a lot although the day feels like it's a lot, so.....

Whew!  So far today:

  • 8:30 vet (vax) appointment, but they made us wait past 9:00
  • Pet store run for a tether so pup will stay in the back seat when I drive him on my own.
  • Stop for water because we didn't have time to run home.  Check-out took forever.
  • Kid2 to horse riding.
  • 10:00 puppy kindergarten - our first class.
  • 11:30-12 puppy lunch & get Kid1 going.
  • 12:00 rapid covid test for Kid1.  (Negative.)
  • 12:30-2 explain what happened at puppy KG 3 different times.
  • Got covid results & made an appointment for a PCR test.
  • 2:30 picked up Kid2 from horse riding.
  • 3:00 PCR Covid test for Kid1.
  • 3:30 spilled coffee all over everything because I was trying to do 50 things and forgot I had a travel mug in my arm.
  • Cleaned up the coffee and put a load of clothes (with and without coffee stains) in the washer.
  • Probably some other stuff but I can't remember - it's all a blur.  😛

Puppy KG went reasonably well, all things considered.  Hopefully next week's class will be less affected by stress.

Don't tell anyone, but I am thinking of sneaking a nap soon.

The rest of the day, I have:

  • Client work.
  • Kids' homework follow-up.
  • Watch a live-streamed high school play that my kids' friend is in (after figuring out how to do this).
  • Whatever else gets done.

Okay, done printing/prepping, now just need to file it.  Whew.

20 yr old is plugging along diligently. We're listening to sea shanties on his laptop while we work. LOL! Fun times.

My printer thinks it's out of toner again (we just replaced it like 2 weeks ago.....I have no idea how it determines when it thinks it's out; it prints for months after the initial "keep printing?? Quality not guaranteed!!!" warning....)

Checking/shuffling laundry before I file/pack my bag for school.

Okay, school stuff is DONE.

20 yr old is plugging away, so my supervision role is done for the day.

Laundry status -- 3rd/final load in the washer, 2nd load in the dryer, 1st load fully put away. So I'm marking that off for today, and signing off for the evening.

Cooking dinner, then we'll eat, and DH and I hang out while DS (20 yr old) keeps working on school stuff.

Reader, here is the article.  https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/prescriptions-life/201810/could-relative-hypoglycemia-be-causing-your-anxiety

I never put meals on the list, but we just finished dinner.

My list tomorrow will be to continue today's. Dh and I ended up playing some games and watching Shtisel, so I haven't got quite as much done as I hoped. But it was nice to just enjoy being together. We better get used to that with ds heading off to college in August.
