Good morning!

I had a bad night's sleep and feel on edge this morning. I did have more sugar yesterday than I normally do, so I'm wondering if that contributed to it.

Dh is off to school, and I've done the bible study groups.

  • meals
  • make a list of things to get for book club
  • don't forget to go by church our co-op meets at and look for a dry erase board left there
  • book club
  • possibly take a couple girls home from the club if mom needs me to
  • laundry
  • tidy house
  • watch more Shtisel

I'm with you on the short-on-sleep! We had new lambs late last night and I woke up at 5 to go check on them and couldn't get back to sleep afterwards....trying to get myself motivated now to get dressed and get on with it.

  • Go for a run
  • Feed livestock
  • Sort mail and pay bills at the Press office
  • Run a farm tour at 11 AM
  • Try to get unstuck on the current writing project

Howdy, happy Thursday!

It's sunny, but there's new snow accumulation on the ground / on cars.  Glad I don't have any exciting plans (out of the house) for today.

I got pup duty early today, which always reminds me why I am NOT a morning person (if having kids wasn't enough) ....

Kid2 is off to school.

I woke Kid1 up, but I'm pretty sure she just rolled over and went back to sleep.  I can't spend the whole day nagging her.

To do:

  • Coffee up so I can think and prioritize.
  • Lots of client work.
  • Pup duty.
  • Kid2 back from school (if the weather is nicer, she can walk).
  • Make the kids do homework, housework, TKD form practice, and pup duty.
  • My yoga, TKD form practice, walking.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Good morning everyone!  I hope everybody is able to get some rest/feel rested even though you aren't today. Lack of sleep/bad sleep is so disruptive!

My list today:
....coffee
....make DS's school list for the week
....do school with DS
.....figure out history for K, and science for both K
& 1st as we're wrapping up the year
....shop for a bday gift for the 4 yr old (turning 5 tomorrow) (the one I tutor)
....debate whether to order and speed-read my book club book, or not....
(verdict: No; skip this time, maybe go next time...)
....laundry????
....figure out dinner....??
....make sure 20yr old does his school stuff

....whatever else I'm forgetting

Have a good day, gang!

finished school with DS

did the present shopping, and found the cutest little princess themed, creative, open-ended, reusable (wipe off) set; she has so many toys, but this is a great portable, reusable, creative, etc. which I think will please her and her grown-ups. It's all self contained, etc. and good quality (by Melissa & Doug). Yay!

figured out dinner (bratwurst, baked beans on the side, and some other veggie)

been checking on 20 yr old, he's on track(-ish) for school

need to check on laundry and see what can be done there.....

Book club went very well today. I loved the story, and I think it inspired the kids to think about other cultures and the challenges changing cultures creates for people.  If we move, I may try to find another homeschool community that will allow me to do a book club. I have thoroughly enjoyed the children's novels I have read over these many years.

They gave me flowers and several thank you cards from the kids. I teared up reading them this evening. All these lasts are rough. My son graduating is something I'm really glad is here. What I'm sad about is the loss of my community. Becoming an empty nester for a homeschool mom is also losing part of her identity. I know I am already remaking that into something new, and I have found community everywhere we have lived. Keeping that in mind helps.

@mom31257 Your book club sounds fun, Amy! Praying for your transition and possible move.

I have already begun to experience a bit of the sadness of losing my homeschool community. Our son went to school last year and will never be homeschooled again. Dd has only two years left and those will be 100% outsourced.

I am thankful that some of my homeschool friends are also church friends.

I'm sorry you are at that place already. I, too, have some of these friends in church, which will help.  If we move, then I'll be starting over in everything.
