ktgrok Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 The other kids had Graco Nautilus for that phase. Youngest DD just turned 4 and it is getting harder to buckle the crotch strap and get a good fit on her car seat, and I was going to pick up another Nautilus, but is there some reason i should get something else? This will be in a captains chair in a Dodge Caravan, so space isn't an issue, and it won't be moved around or anything. Quote
Spy Car Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 With a 16 year old (only child) I'm seriously out of date on the latest in car seats, but when the kiddo was young I invested in a Sunshine Kids Radian car seat (I think they changed their name to "Diono"). Wasn't cheap, but the internal steel frame made the seat both very strong and streamlined. I was a little balky on the price, but bit the bullet. About a week later a large moving truck whose driver was oblivious to the fact that freeway traffic had come to a stop plowed into the back of my wife's car at full speed. He (and my wife) walked away unscathed. Never been so happy that I went the extra-mile. Might be a brand to check out. Bill 3 Quote
SounderChick Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 The nautilus is a great seat. If you wanted to splurge little the Chicco has a MyFit zip air. With a zip off cover for easy cleaning and the air is supposed to keep the seat cooler. Quote
