Popular Post Condessa
We have a BIG SURPRISE due in November! I did not seriously think I could be pregnant. My period has been late several times this past half year just from all the stress. But dh went out and got a test for me and surprise! I so desperately wanted another after my #4. I had vivid dreams of another child and often caught myself looking for the other kid when they were all there. But it was such a bad idea. I had blood pressure problems that were worse and started earlier with every pregnancy, that caused my last one to be induced as soon as he hit 37 weeks. He had many health problems as an infant, and his doctor said he had preemie problems even though he wasn’t technically a preemie. Another pregnancy was a bad idea, and I eventually came to terms with it. Now we are battling #4’s cancer. He is supposed to start chemo in less than 2 weeks, except that he demonstrated new symptoms a few days ago and now the doctors are considering another surgery before going to chemo. I have been struggling both logistically and emotionally with my son’s medical condition and with having to say goodbye to our foster girls. And I am old and fat, or at least compared to when I had my other kids. I will be 35 soon, and I weigh 60 lbs. more than my pre-pregnancy weight with #1 and #4. Nevertheless, there is a baby. It’s amazing how much joy and fear the news inspires simultaneously.

prairiewindmomma
^DD^ was diagnosed with cancer when I was immediately postpartum. Honestly, caring for a baby while ^dd^ was going through cancer was so comforting. The baby went with me everywhere, even through hospitalizations, and it all worked out just fine. My best advice is to get a very good baby carrier. I wore baby 12-15 hours a day (all the time except when nursing or changing diapers). Congrats!!
