Can anyone talk to me about BC? My first 4 dc have stayed "local" and attended CC or gone straight into the work force. #5 applied to BC and I'd like to hear from someone whose dc has attended. Dds interests are journalism and law. My interest is in very conservative views/practices/beliefs. This is 100% her choice, but I can still hope that she ends up somewhere that supports both of those interests. 😉

Well, since no one's answered, I'll toss in my two cents. Dd has a friend from her U of Dallas summer Latin program who goes to BC. It's a great school academically especially if you're pre-law. It's not a particularly conservative Catholic school. It's more Notre Dame than Ave Maria. Hope that helps.

My husband worked with a recent graduate of BC, oh, about two years ago now.  He was a great guy.  He was young, he had graduated probably 2-3 years before.  He was Catholic.

I would say he also liked to party and drink beer.

But, also a responsible person and a hard worker.

He loved it there.

I have a good impression from him, and while I would say he is conservative in view and beliefs -- in practices as someone who was 23 or 24 I can't say he totally was.  But he certainly was as far as his job performance.  But he definitely was somebody who socialized around drinking beer.

I do not know if he was a typical student or not!

My husband definitely got along well with him and liked him.  We went to dinner with him once bc he wanted my husband and I to meet his fiance who was visiting from out of town.  I thought they were a very sweet couple and expect them to do well.

Edit:  I have to say there was a heavy beer-drinking culture where we were.  I doubt this young man would stay that way after he was married etc.  And he was less into it than other people.  But, it is something I would say about him.
