DawnM Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 I cannot connect to human being! It is making me crazy. I have called the number and it keeps saying I need to choose an option for scheduling. I scheduled what I thought was the J&J vaccine for this Saturday. It gave me no option to schedule a 2nd vaccine time/date. However, after they sent me confirmation, it gave me a 2nd dosage date and time during my work day. Do you think this is an automatic computer response and the 2nd dose is just a placecard type of thing? Has anyone else scheduled the J&J vaccine online? Quote

Call the pharmacy you are scheduled at, don't select the vaccine option on the automated phone line, ask to talk to a pharmacist and ask them which vaccine they are administering. That is what I did. katilac Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Walgreens has all 3 vaccines. You should get an email confirmation of your appointment that specifies which vaccine, so that's the first thing to check for. If you don't have it (remember to search for it and check spam folder), the Walgreens trick to getting to a human being: do not press the number for Covid vaccine; instead, choose "I have to speak to a pharmacist." Check your email first. You should absolutely have a confirmation that specifies the vaccine. You can reach the pharmacist by bypassing the Covid selection, but you shouldn't have to. 4 minutes ago, Seasider too said: As long as you have the first one scheduled I wouldn’t worry, you can talk to a real person about it when you go for that first appointment. This would be my last resort if scheduling is tight. When I went for my first vaccine, I had exactly two days to choose from for my 2nd shot. Quote

Nope, I got 2 confirmations, one for each appointment, and neither say the kind of vaccine I am scheduled to get. When I scheduled it in the first place it had all 3 listed and I clicked only the J&J vaccine availability, so I assume it is, but it doesn't specify and it threw me off when it scheduled a 2nd dose. DawnM Posted March 17, 2021 Author Posted March 17, 2021 argh. On hold for 10 min and then the system hung up on me. I HATE calling places, I never have good luck. Calling again.... 1 Quote
TheReader Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Was there in the email (or can you log back into your Walgreen's account and find it there) a "click/download for vaccine info" sheet?? The places we've had the vaccine have all had that (a way to view the info sheet on the particular vaccine). That's how I found out which one was being offered by the county, and that the 16 yr old therefore could actually *not* get it even though their system let us make him an appointment. Quote

No, there is nothing like that on either place. There are links to change your appointment, links for the consent form, and links for eligibility requirements. That is it. 1 Quote
DawnM Posted March 17, 2021 Author Posted March 17, 2021 Finally getting a chance to call again, on hold 8 min. so far......hoping they don't hang up. Quote
Bootsie Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 It is so frustrating when you can't get in touch with a person. DH tried registering for a vaccine through Walgreen's site. Somehow it autofilled my name and some of my info with his email address. He can't change it; he can't get it cancelled; he can't register with the proper info because he has an account... it is a mess. So, they seem to have some registration issues. Hope you can get things straightened out soon. 1 Quote
DawnM Posted March 17, 2021 Author Posted March 17, 2021 Finally talked to someone. It is indeed Pfizer and not J&J. I don't know why it didn't let me schedule the 2nd dose myself. She said not to give up my spot if I want the vaccine, it is too hard to get an appt right now. I guess I will just have to take off for a bit that day and go get my 2nd dose. Thankfully I did choose the Walgreens near my work. I told her I ONLY clicked the J&J vaccine availability and she said they don't do J&J appointments online, they only do Pfizer. 1 Quote

That's weird yours doesn't. Hope you get it figured out! 1 Quote

Kanin Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Interesting. I have my first jab at Walgreens this afternoon, and since the doses are 4 weeks apart, I figured I was getting Moderna. 1 Quote
