The girls have CPR this morning.  Drive there, back and then repeat.
Replant some plants.
School

Call about windbreak trees. The website says due to derecho that trees will be very limited. Sigh. Cant everyone just give our area their trees this year?  😜

Try to track the wound vac delivery ( I can track USPS and UPS but the home health nurse said that it may be coming from a store here or a store in Birmingham that does s delivery by van)

If wound vac comes. Contact home health nurse and hopefully get the portable wound vac on me

Renew books online

Move downstairs when tornado watch starts

Prepare bags to take downstairs

Big hugs to all of you watching out for tornadoes! Stay safe, and check in when it all passes, if you can.  Chris, be well!

my day today:
....coffee
....I think DH is doing lunch before he & DS go volunteer at the vaccination clinic/location
....do a final "once-over" on the curtains to make sure there are no needed final touches, photograph them, and message the neighbor to arrange drop-off
....change my sewing machine back and quilt my latest quilt ❤️❤️❤️
....plan something yummy and easy for dinner (hmm, maybe dig up the wedding meatball soup recipe and see if we have that stuff) (go to store as needed)
....dinner, then probably Stranger Things (it's hilarious how into it the 2 younger boys are)
.....the end/anything else I think of/remember

Happy Wednesday!  I got off to a good start today!

  • Woke up, yay!
  • "Yoga etc." + TKD form practice.
  • A tiny bit of housework.
  • Took out the garbage.
  • Woke the kids for school.
  • Caught up on calendar, emails, news, social media, and checked the kids' grades.
  • Checked the bank to see if my passport app check cashed.  It did!  Yay!  Checked the US Travel website and they say they've had my app since March 15.  So it was in the Philly post office from February 23 to March 15.  😕  Anyway, glad it's finally in process & not lost.  Good thing I didn't have any travel plans!
  • Arranged a donation.
  • Working on Coffee 2.

To do:

  • Lots of client work.
  • Pay a bill or two.
  • Make kids do homework during the day!  And also pick up after themselves.
  • Kids to band sectionals.
  • Kid2 to horse riding.
  • Kid1 to trumpet lesson.
  • Gather books to donate to book drive at TKD school.
  • All 3 of us to TKD class.
  • Lent church (online)?
  • Probably 1 load of laundry.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Welcome, Carolina Wren!

Christina, praying for your recovery and safety. It looks like we might be in the path tonight and tomorrow.

SKL, how's the puppy?

Two classes done and two more to go.

Messaged the neighbor about the curtains, she loves them, will get together tomorrow to deliver. She has misplaced the curtain rings, which is ironic as we purposely had her keep them so I wouldn't be responsible/lose them.

Just send DH & DS out the door to go volunteer, after feeding them lunch first. It's silly, but I'm ridiculously nervous for them. (why??? there's no reason to be)

Making a list/meal plan and grocery shopping, then will come home and quilt.

Zoom classes are done.

Dh's school has gone to all remote learning tomorrow and teachers don't report until 11.

I'm concerned about dd. She is in Chattanooga and has to work tonight. Pray for her safety!

T-storms here, but no wind. How is your weather, Christina?

We have been having lots of rain and a few thunderstorms but nothing severe so far.  They are telling us that we will be getting the severe weather after 4pm or maybe even later.

Worse weather further south from us including B'ham area where my dd2 lives.

Amy, I will be praying for your daughter in Chattanooga.  And if you all can pray for my dd2 and her very nice boyfriend who live in different southern suburbs of Birmingham in apartments (fortunately, at least dd2 chose a ground floor appt) .  They seem to be in much worse conditions than we are up here.

Not sure how much taxes I will get done today.

I also have two baskets of laundry to put away.

Praying for all of you guys and your daughters, loved ones, etc. in the way of these crazy storms.

DH checked in and they are on "chair cleaning duty" at the volunteer site; a lot of afternoon volunteers didn't show up, so he & DS are the only 2 on it....this morning there were 4 on this. He says it's going well/time is passing quickly, so that's good.

Went to the grocery store and ran into a couple from our (old) church that we lost track with after Harvey -- that was fun catching up! We stood and talked for ages until they remembered their dog was in the car, LOL! oops.

Came home, started dinner in the crockpot (on high instead of low....), got groceries put away, checked in on DS20 who is supposed to be working on school but is instead playing Animal Crossing. I am watching a recorded show while I eat lunch/snack/veg out, and then will make us both get to what we're supposed to be doing (him school, me quilting).

....and, instead I watched all 3 episodes of recorded TV I had waiting on me, and could *not* figure out why I wasn't smelling the soup simmering in the crockpot, so finally got up to go check it, taste it, etc.......and, when I switched from the small to large crockpot (right at the start, b/c I had FILLED the crockpot to the brim almost), I never plugged in the big crockpot. :sigh:

So.....rather than now spend my last hour sewing, I shall convert to stove top and take care of that, assuming I can get all the mixed up ingredients separated (or decide if I can just dump it all in once). (and assuming it fits in my giant pot......)

Sorry for the soup fiasco, Reader!

@SKL Puppy pics? Name? Adventures and escapades of the so cute GS pup?

Quiet evening here. Dd is studying, Ds is chatting with friends online, Dh is reading, and I am enjoying hot tea while listening to the rain, snuggled in bed. About to get off the phone and read.

So far just rain here, no big storms, but the forecast was for the big stuff in the middle of the night. Batteries charged in case power goes out.

Christina, thank you and I’ll be praying for your dd and her boyfriend.

Reader, I did that one time, too!

We don’t have rain yet, but it looks like a bad line is coming through around midnight and then more early morning. We don’t have a basement. Our laundry room is middle of the house with no windows, so that’s where we’ll go if we need to.
