Good morning!

Today is dd's birthday (now you know part of my user name if you didn't). We won't get to be with her, but she does have fun plans with friends tonight. We'll celebrate next time we are together.

The usuals are done plus more because I'm subbing at a Christian school today.

  • go to the school and sub
  • errands on the way home
  • do some last minute SAT tips with ds
  • dinner (maybe out or pick up something?)
  • watch something, play a game, relax

Good morning!
It really feels spring like here! The mourning doves are mating and nest-building, I have blue birds in my nest box, daffodils are up, and the air smells like growing things!

I am stressed about mom’s living situation and waiting to hear on some financial things before signing for her.

Today:

Ds to school ✔️

Clean his room so Dd’s friend can stay in there tonight. ✔️

Clean a bathroom. ✔️

Grocery ✔️

Drop stuff off for mom and pick up things I left at AHG last night.

AHG things - send invitations to register for a new family.

Dinner is tacos and ice cream. Dd and her friend will entertain themselves so tonight and tomorrow should be relaxed as far as kid stuff goes.

Howdy, happy Friday!

It's a day for giving myself credit for doing anything other than snoring pre-9am.

Done:

  • Helping with homework in the wee hours.  Kid's teacher is off for surgery and they are expected to teach themselves a new subject (exponential graphs).  The teaching material on the Chromebook is unclear.  Sleep would have been a better use of time.
  • Slept several hours.
  • Woke up, yay!
  • Drove the kids to school on time, yay!  With all their needed paraphernalia.  A+!
  • Had to talk for too long before I had enough coffee.  Now fighting a stiff neck / back.
  • Caught up on calendar, news, emails, social media, and checked the kids' grades.
  • A tiny bit of housework.
  • Working on Coffee 1.

To do:

  • Lots of client work.  Need some of it to go out in the morning so clients can do their part before mid-afternoon.
  • Our fixit guy is coming at 10am and I will probably have to help carry stuff etc.  Today's main goal is to get a room puppy-ready.
  • Kids have time-sensitive homework to do after school.  I hope they will focus and not make it hard for all of us.
  • Dinner out.
  • If the kids finish their school work, Kid1 gets to pick a movie (to watch at home).
  • A little reading, exercise, practice TKD form, light housework, and laundry.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Good morning!

Happy Birthday, Amy's DD!

Hugs, Scout, on the living arrangements stuff for your mom; we aren't there yet with our parents, but I don't relish getting there.

Huge A++, SKL, for getting the kids to school, with stuff, on time! yay!! And hooray for puppy-ready.....will we get pics of this puppy??? How exciting!

My day today:
....coffee (in progress)
....4 yr old
....come home, get family, drive to the county that has opened for vaccine appointments (they had excess, we are not tier jumping/lying to get it)
....get home from that and hopefully the guys video game and I sew -- I finally (I think) figured out the plan for the backing of the quilt

Also, here is the front of it -- the pattern is being released today/ish; it was a mystery quilt along with 3 designers who together call themselves the GEL Collective (Gyleen, Ebony, and Latifah), and the quilt is called Parallel Universe. The pattern is all them, I subbed in my own color choices. I would NEVER have picked to do this if I'd seen the pattern first, BUT I absolutely love it now that it's done. So now I'm working on making a back for it using some of the leftover fabrics. (it's throw sized, 60x72)

Reader, that is amazing!  Just WOW!

SKL, talking (or anything) before coffee is rough.  Yay on the puppy; looking forward to pictures!

Scout, hope it all settles for you and mum soon!

Mom 31257, happy birthday to your DD!

If I clean the bathrooms and take a shower before DH gets home from his business trip, I will consider my day successful.  Trying to enjoy the last few hours of ‘Cat’s Away’ life=). (Joke!)

Fixit guy came and left.  I cleaned out a barrister case, helped carry it upstairs to its new home, and helped carry an elliptical machine out to the patio enclosure addition.  The fixit guy has a sore shoulder, so I had to bear most of the weight.  Luckily I am still pretty strong, though my lower back isn't 100% thrilled right now.

Tolerated yet another one-sided conversation about my parenting.  And about how there is something wrong with me since I don't appreciate that the topic arises every time I cross paths with a certain person.

Contemplating (again) how to raise kids to have healthy boundaries, when they live in a house like this.

Familia, thank you!  It was challenging, but fun.  And, I always considered "showered and put the house kind of back together" on  business trip days to be a win.

SKL, I put a heart, but it's a "hugs" thing.....I wish the people/person you live with wasn't such a grump and critical all the time. I'm sorry you go through that; how to raise kids in that.....keep your boundaries strong. They'll see that, and it will be enough. Big hugs!

Also - what is a barrister case?? (I should google).

Scout, I'm so sorry you are going through all of this with your mom, especially during Covid. Praying all goes as well as possible!

SKL, enjoy the new puppy, and yes pictures, please! I'm sorry you keep having these issues about your parenting. People need to keep a lot more to themselves than they do.

Reader, that is beautiful!!

Familia, hope you enjoyed your last bit of "freedom".

Subbing at the school was fine. They had worksheets to do using pi since Pi Day is Sunday. There were a few sour attitudes about the work, but that's just teenagers. I was done by 2, so that was nice.

I talked to dd. She's having a fun day with friends. Dh might get to see her tomorrow if he goes to a job fair up that way, but ds is taking the SAT again, so I'll stay here.

Never got to do my out and around errands, but my house is tidy and much cleaner than it was. 😆

Laundry still running. More to fold and put away.

Dh left to get Ds from school and head to Scout campout. 🏕Looking forward to 48 hrs of girls-only at home. Easy, quiet, restful. ❤️

Still playing phone tag with two people with regard to my mom. Got a big pile of papers sorted, filled in, marked for mom’s signature etc.

Called mom.

Started a list for tomorrow.
Put gas in my car.
