I think this was a topic fairly recently, but I just found out today that dd will be getting her own apartment in a few weeks. It’s not a terrible neighborhood, but she will be on the first floor, and a teenaged girl living alone. Mommy is freaked!
I hate the system I have (Eufy), and we only use cameras, not individual door and window alarms. She has more need for the opposite. Er, I need her to have more of the opposite.

do you want monitored or not?

I’m thinking not, but I am open. I want a deterrent first and foremost, so window stickers and something easily recognizable like a ring doorbell are good. And then alarm, to run off anyone who wants to take that gamble. In a 5-unit building, I’m not particularly worried about needing a remote service to call 911 if alarms are going off. I think she’s more likely to trigger false alarms.

Ok, then Ring probably. My parents looked at a lot recently, and almost did Simplesafe or whatevr it is, but didn't want the monitoring. With Ring thy could do it with or without. Also, we had SimpliSafe years ago and they were a PIA about canceling the monitoring, had to fight to get stuff off our credit, etc.
