Shaun Cassidy TShirt....vintage late 1970s....can you help me?

Last week I saw I friend I haven't seen in 38 years.   She mentioned remembering having a Shaun Cassidy TShirt.  I want to get her a remake of that.  I was likely 1977-1979 but might be off a year or 2 either way.

I think she said it was cream colored and had his picture on it and he might have been wearing a hat (possibly black hat).

Any oldsters here have that shirt or remember what it looks like?  Any hints would be great.

Her other classic outfit was the Mork shirt with suspenders.

I have probably seen that shirt - not that I ever owned one.

He and his brother, both had their dad's "smile".  and the hair.   (not that Jack Cassidy had that much hair when he died.)

have you tried ebay?  or doing a general image search?  there are a lot out there for sale.  even if the image is a different color, you can often order it in cream if it's from a place that is actually making the shirts.

here's a likely suspect - but it's navy.

This is a trip down memory lane.🙂 I remember that picture of Shaun Cassidy. He was quite the teenybopper heartthrob!

I had Mork suspenders, too.

I think it was This shirt does anyone remember what color it was originally?  I want to order her one and have it shipped to her house as a surprise.

You could search for the original on Pinterest. I see lots of pictures of 70s memorabilia on there.

So, speaking as a person who was wearing and buying clothes during that era, I can tell you that there was likely not "a shirt" of a specific color or style. The trend at that time was towards shops in malls that would create t-shirts to order with iron-on transfers. (One popular example was a chain called Bullshirt -- not the same company as the one operating now online.) You walked it, paged through big binders of the available designs, chose the shirt you wanted -- color, style, size -- and they would press the transfer on using giant, very hot irons.

Such custom shirts were very popular gift items during my middle school years.

I had a Star Wars shirt with the original (now considered "vintage") poster image, one with John Travolta on it and probably others I don't remember right this moment.

If you want to get as close as possible to replicating the shirt your friend had, you may need to pick the brains of someone who remembers it.

Wow,  the late 70s.   A true life time ago in every way.  Memories.     I was the odd one that always thought David was much hunkier than Shaun.  But I loved Shaun's music.

Oh my gosh! You guys! I did not know that I needed a Shaun Cassidy shirt, but I do!!! My dd13 LOVES the Hardy Boy/Nancy Drew series from the 70s, (thank you Netflix!) and even has a Shaun Cassidy record she found at Half Price Books.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

I loved those stores so much and spent a lot of time flipping through the animal designs. I had one tee made with a mouse on it, sitting on a basket of strawberries, and the whole transfer was glittery. 💖 I'm pretty sure I had a Ziggy shirt made there as well. What in the world. 🙂

I can still remember how the store smelled, like hot vinyl. Wonderful!

I remember those stores! My best friend and I had matching sweatshirts from one of those stores.  Pink long sleeve sweatshirts that said "Best Friends Forever" on the front, and our names down each sleeve, in pink, fuzzy letters.

Oh man, yes! When I was about 11, I had one that said "Afternoon Delight" because I had no idea what it meant and my mom had no idea how to tell me 😂

I have that shirt in mint green sized for 11 yo me. Sorry, though, you can't have it. It's mine, mine, all mine....(insert gleeful laugh).

Incidentally, he has a pretty funny Twitter feed. He doesn't post frequently, but when he does he has a sense of humor. He seems to have turned out nicely from what I can tell.
