TheReader Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Good morning! So far, I have already: ...gone out looking for firewood for the pizza oven (nope, not the week after historic freeze...) ...gone to the grocery store for some ingredients for treats to make to thank the guys who helped move the pizza oven (score) ...and for ingredients for the "block party" the neighbors are throwing as a "we survived" thing (we will take food out, but not stay long b/c covid...) ...started a load of laundry Next up: ....sort/cut/staple/load my bag for school with all the printouts ...church online ...brunch (ham breakfast sandwiches) ...make the treats and sides for the neighbors ...sew????? ...not sure what's for dinner....more ham, or grab food from the block party (we also have leftover fried chicken) ...probably TV or something, maybe board game, after dinner ...finish working the laundry....looks like one more load of shirts/colors, and one load of jeans, and then all that's left will be more towels and all the sheets/blankets from wrapping the plants..... 3 Quote

SKL Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Howdy. I have been so good lately about going through old stuff in my room, using what I can, and purging. Hopefully it continues until it feels neat once again. I have this thing we call "zwee." [My friend's mispronunciation of "ch'i," which was so funny that it stuck.] I don't feel good or operate well when I am aware of clutter in my environment. It's been a while since my "zwee" was undisturbed. Will I get it back? I hope so! I'm also a little ahead of last year in terms of year-end client work, so that is nice, and also needs to continue. Unfortunately, I'm way behind on exercise though. I guess you can't have everything all the time. Done: Was up until 5:something doing worthwhile and not-so-worthwhile stuff. Slept until 9:something. Folded and put away laundry. Texted someone who can hopefully use my kids' elementary school gym and sports clothes. Looks like I have a taker for most of the items. Caught up on calendar, emails, news, and social media. Placed an Amazon order for a rolling cabinet for the kitchen. Coffee 1. To do: More coffee. Lots of client work. Church, read-alouds with the kids. Make my kids write thank-you notes. Make my kids get their school work up to date. 2 more loads of laundry. Hopefully some more cleaning. Whatever else gets done. 4 Quote

TheReader Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Got all the school stuff cut, stapled, sorted, loaded. Need to round up the extras -- dominoes, math bags, etc. Need to first wake up enough to make the list to do that. (took a long nap to fend off a headache, which worked, but now I'm groggy) DH cooked the corn dish for the block party, so take that over shortly. Will wait on the rice cereal treats since those are mostly 'thank you" for the families that helped, vs to take to the block party, and I'm short on time today DH is adding the 2nd coat of sealant stuff to the patio, which I had thought he was skipping....? (woke up and he was out there doing that...) Laundry has been rotated, need to do one more load today once those ones are ready to swap Need to fold the ones I pulled out of the dryer and put them away (plus the ones waiting to come out of the dryer) Maybe get to sew today after all??? 2 Quote
ScoutTN Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Made curried chx salad for lunch. Chx pot pie is in the oven. Kitchen is tidy. Whew! Lots if work. Doing paperwork for Dd’s summer internship, tutorial, and AHG BOR this afternoon. All due early this week. @SKL Thanks! Box arrived today. Still need to do tutoring prep and some AHG virtual training. 3 Quote
TheReader Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Okay, all the laundry is put away except for jeans in the dryer. yay! Boys will do towels for me tomorrow, and we will slowly do the sheets/blankets this week (that were used for covering trees). We went out to the block party for a little while and visited/social distanced/hung out - it was outdoors, and needed, and.....maybe risky, I don't know anymore. Met a few new folks, chatted about trees and plants and recovery, chatted hs'ing with one mom, shared some reading advice, got to know the neighbors from the other sections. It was good. Word has spread about the pizza oven, so now the thank you pizzas may end up being block party style. Oye. Boys are video-gaming so I can sew tonight, now that all the chores are done. ❤️ 1 Quote
SKL Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Well, I tackled that one corner of my room, behind my moon chair. I've been doing bits of it over the past week or so, but today I pulled everything out, dusted and vacuumed, and reorganized. A lot of stuff went into the garbage, donation boxes, basement, or other logical places. Some went back where it was, but at least I know it's there, so there is a better chance that I'll use it before it gets buried in dust again. You might not notice the difference if you weren't me. But I notice it. 😛 I also spent some quality time with my kids, including virtual church, reading, and working on a research paper. I didn't do any client work though. Oh well. It will still be there tomorrow morning, won't it? 1 Quote
