DH is a postal carrier so I'd like to find him some N95 masks but I don't know what a good price for them is. There are too many options on Amazon for me to be able to narrow it down. Is there one brand better than another because I am willing to pay more if that's the case. Right now he is using a Happy Mask and he's happy with that (LOL) but I would feel better if he had some N95s to use as well.

Thanks!

I personally wouldn’t trust any on Amazon. Most are probably fakes. Happy masks are better anyway.

I was worried about them being fakes as well as the reviews being fake so thank you for mentioning that. I didn't realize Happy Masks were better so maybe I'll just get the two of us more of those. Thank you!

There are real options on Amazon for about $1 a mask.  There is a list of reputable manufacturers somewhere on the CDC site, but I'm on the go right now so I can't link it. I'll try to remember to come back later if no one else posts it.

Yes, but I just saw a bit on the news the other day that many in the hospital supply chain are fakes and not made by the manufacturer printed on them. And other markets tested were more than 80% fakes.  Some of them you could tell if you had a real one on hand because you could see the differences in packaging. Others had obvious English language errors you could see if you were looking at the fine print. But others could only be seen by testing the filtration in a lab.

I purchased some through Sears that were on the CDC website. I paid $40 for 20 masks and I felt it was reasonable. The only places we’re going inside right now are doctors offices so they should last us a a while.

I purchased some KF-94s that are supposedly CDC approved for $2/mask (20 for $40). I haven’t seen N-95s for $1/mask that looked reliable—hospitals are purchasing them at $3-5/mask from their suppliers.

Layering a surgical mask under a cloth mask puts you pretty close to N-95 territory and is much less expensive.
