Kassia
I'm 53 and haven't had a period in 6 years and assumed I was post-menopause. I had some labs drawn recently and my FSH/LH levels don't appear to be those of someone in menopause. I don't know what to make of them and didn't know if anyone here could help me. FSH - 3.7 {IU/L} LH - 0.3 {IU/L} My doctor didn't comment on the results.
Arcadia
My oncologist puts more emphasis on the Estradiol numbers to determine menopausal status. Do you have that? https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/encyclopedia/content.aspx?ContentTypeID=167&ContentID=estradiol I would have to check my medical lab records to compare my FSH, LH and EST numbers 1

My oncologist said mine is probably perimenopause https://www.health.harvard.edu/womens-health/perimenopause-rocky-road-to-menopause ”Perimenopause varies greatly from one woman to the next. The average duration is three to four years, although it can last just a few months or extend as long as a decade.”

Is your PCP’s personality the “don’t ask don’t say more” kind? I have that kind and I need to prepare lots of questions to ask beforehand. Ali in OR
I've been tested to see if I'm in menopause yet twice and the test has been for estradiol. Don't remember levels, just remember that I wasn't yet.

I forgot that you had issues with your PCP from the anemia thread. I went to dig my results up. My numbers went from postmenopausal range to ambiguous. FSH: Feb 2020 is 91.7 mIU/ml Sep 2020 is 32.4 mIU/ml LH: Feb 2020 is 57.8 mIU/ml Sep 2020 is 19.6 mIU/mL
mum
If I remember rightly from my specialist GYN, LH are the numbers to look for. The other numbers can fluctuate even in menopause. So LH levels are the numbers that determine menopause status.

It's all so confusing and unexpected - I thought it was obvious that I was in menopause and the test was a waste.
