Elizabeth86 Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 Does anyone have mensa booklist for grades 4-6 organized by reading level? I'm lazy and don't want to do it. I found the k-3 one online. Quote
Porridge Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 not sure what you mean by reading levels? Here are the reading lists sorted by grade levels- scroll to the bottom of the page https://www.mensaforkids.org/achieve/excellence-in-reading/ Quote

I wanted to read the ones geared more toward 4th grade 1st. Quote
Lori D. Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 (edited) Here is your Mensa list for grades 4-6, listed by grade level of interest first, and then listed by Lexile reading level within the interest range. Note: Lexile rankings do not mean that the books at the top of the list are necessarily best for the younger grade of that range, or the last books are necessarily best for the older grade of that range... 😉 grade range: 3-5 600L - The Hundred Penny Box 600L - The Rescuers 640L - Front Desk 700L - The Moffats 750L - Misty of Chincoteague 780L - The Borrowers 790L - Dog on Barkham Street 810L - Roller Skates 810L - Thimble Summer 840L - Matilda 860L - Matchlock Gun 1010L - Ben and Me 1030L - Wonderful Wizard of Oz grade range: 4-6 570L - Lad A Dog 610L - Swiss Family Robinson 700L - From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. I checked the K-3 and 7-8 lists and saw that they're different, too. Does anyone know how frequently they are updated? Or whether it matters if you use an outdated list if you're going for the t-shirt? Quote

Porridge Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 They have changed the list. When I first saw the list a few years back, it was indeed different. It looks like they have tried to be more inclusive with the new list - adding titles that represent a more diverse set of experiences and viewpoints. You could email them to find out if you can use the old list. 1 Quote

My oldest doesn't struggle at reading at all, BUT he does prefer to read below grade level, but I have to challenge him a bit, butI didn't want to give him the hardest book on the list. Quote
