purpleowl Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 Weekend, hooray! These threads are for those who'd like accountability and encouragement in doing intentional daily movement. Anyone may join in at any time! Quote
Wheres Toto Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 I have to get back into moving every day. I ended up getting out of the habit when I had a weird week at work, then didn't meet with my daughter for a week, then snow days, then dd has Covid so we're not meeting. Just too much throwing things off at once. But I'm going to do some Tai Chi and yoga today and tomorrow to get back to it before I"m at work again Monday. Although we are getting more snow tonight which delays my arrival at work which eats into my exercise time so we'll see. 6 Quote
purpleowl Posted February 6, 2021 Author Posted February 6, 2021 You can do it, @Wheres Toto! I walked 3.8 miles this morning. I'm hoping to get another workout in later, but I'm notoriously awful at predicting what my Saturdays will look like, so we'll see. 6 Quote
Jenny in Florida Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 I walked 3.1 miles this morning and did my PT exercises. I am scheduled to do a bunch of work around the house today getting ready for our daughter to come stay with us for a few weeks. So I will likely log a fair number of steps just taking care of that. I will take another walk this afternoon or evening to finish off whatever steps I will need to meet my goal. 5 Quote
ktgrok Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 Did a 50 minute "Active Recovery" DDPY workout via zoom. Will do PT later. Going to have a second cup of coffee and curl up with a book first, lol. 5 Quote
Wheres Toto Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 I moved my desk out of the living room and back into a nook in our kitchen which opens up the living room quite a bit which should be enough space to do my Tai Chi/Yoga/Walking videos at home when things get thrown off. 6 Quote
sbgrace Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I did 30 minutes on my exercise bike, pilates (back, upper body), and relaxation pilates today. I've got a bunch of things that have potential to get in the way of planned movement this week. I've let these kinds of things get me off track before. I'm going to try to stay consistent this week. 3 Quote

Alternated trampoline & arm work - I'm not sure for how long. 4 Quote
YaelAldrich Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 A short walk (maybe a mile) to visit a friend in the morning, a longer walk (3 miles) with the DH in the afternoon, a weensey walk with a friend and her toddlers 😁 and then 45 minutes on the elliptical this evening. 5 Quote
KathyBC Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 2km dog walk. Fresh snow and ice strips on my boots were helpful, still bit the dust on the ice concealed beneath a couple of times. Leashed dog was placid today and lots of fluffy cushion to the landing so no problem. Gorgeous blue-sky day, happy to get out before the cold weather strikes this coming week. 2 1 Quote

Sometimes I try to measure by a different rubric: time put into relationships is higher value than planned exercise. But usually I'm just frustrated with how large a margin of time I seem to need to accomplish movement. Edited February 7, 2021 by KathyBC 4 Quote
KathyBC Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 (edited) Got in a 10 minute yoga session before bed (day 8/30) Edited February 7, 2021 by KathyBC 4 Quote
Melissa Louise Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Went to the pool. Messed around in it for an hour. It was movement. It was intentional. Not sure if it counts as exercise, but it was fun! 🙂 4 Quote
ktgrok Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 (edited) Did my 30 minutes of PT, did one song on the Just Dance game my DD11 got for her birthday, and did a bedime yoga session with the kids in the evening. Oh, and we all attempted a yoga pose, Crow, and poor DD11 fell on her face. Ugh. I tried to tell her it takes a long time to build up to it but that wasn't her speed. Sigh.
