gardenmom5 Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 cat was yeowling like a crying infant. He then threw up on *the carpet*. can't be bare floor . . .. . I have a little green machine spot cleaner, so I did get it cleaned up. Poor kitty. He emptied his stomach. I guess I won't be giving him scraps of (rare) roast beast again. 1 Quote
Elizabeth86 Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 Ugh. My dog always throws up on my children's beds. Every single time. 1 Quote
MercyA Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 They always have to find the carpet, don't they? Ack. 1 Quote

Do you call it roast beast? We do. 😆 1 Quote

TravelingChris Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 I call it roast beef and never offered it to any of the cats I used to have either. I think I offered ham once, and it was thrown up. Minced meat of any kind is better like licking out the tiny bits from tuna fish can. Quote
popmom Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 My cats seem to have tummies of steel. I have one that will vom occasionally his dry cat food. They get treats of all kinds of meats—veggies, too! Quote
stephanier.1765 Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 DH would feed our kitten anything he was eating despite me repeatedly asking him not to. "But she likes it!" She ended up in the vet ER and had emergency surgery because they thought she had ingested a foreign object. Turns out she has a sensitive tummy and now needs a prescription food. He doesn't feed her anything any more. Hard and expensive lesson for him. We have another kitty who vomits often after eating. I think she probably eats too fast. Cats and puke seem to go hand in hand and often on the carpet. 🤦♀️ Quote

The time one of my dogs vomited a partially digested stick of butter in my bed was the worst. So sour - basically rotton milk smell in my bed. Thank goodness I keep waterproof mattress pads on ALL the beds! I miss my pit mix Tara - that dog has her flaws but she had a stomach of steel. These beasts puke at the drop of a hat it seems. 1 Quote

I will not tolerate dh allowing him to lick the remains of his eggs off his plate on the table. I will not tolerate him trying to drink the milk out of my bowl of cereal! I keep a spray bottle of water handy while we eat so we can eat in peace. He usually only needs to see it, and keeps his distance. He can look, as long as he's not on the table. dh will now put his plate with egg remains on the floor. (it's not much - crumbs.) Dh who "doesn't like pets" and has always been against having one. I have mostly bare floors - so cat has to LOOK for a rug on which to vomit! At least the dogs will just lay at our feet - no one is impressed with older dog's "but can't you see my pinched cheeks? I'm so hungry" routine. (he's always hungry - his food has to be measured and when it's gone he can eat at his next meal.) It used to be when he came, the first thing he did was come looking for me. Now - the first thing he does is go looking for the cat's food. food the cat is turning his nose up at - will be gone in under a minute and dog is looking for more. Not a single crumb left. And he has the gumption to look at me for more. Quote

They hang around us at the dinner table like vultures. We fully accept responsibility for their poor behavior. It’s just funny that the cats have so much more patience. But our black cat—who is amazing—will steal/haul off an entire piece of chicken off the counter if we aren’t careful. Feral boy. He was raised with a puppy and thinks he’s a dog. We love them all so much—even with all the annoyances. And vet bills. 😭 Edited February 2, 2021 by popmom 1 Quote

Clear Creek Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 I have a cat who does the exact same thing - she haaates vomiting, so when she is going to vomit she announces it to the family with a loud wail that sounds remarkably human. She is a seal point Siamese, so I was going to ask what your cat was because I have always wondered if it is a trait unique to Siamese cats...every other cat I have owned just silently vomited. Then I saw your picture and it answered my question 😄 My cat has several other very unique traits that make life with her interesting, so enjoy your cat! It will be an adventure, lol. 1 Quote

It sounded like a baby - the first time he's done it. Dh is fascinated by how many different sounds he makes. lots of clicking. hardly any "traditional" meowing. He's a seal point too. I have to keep referring to the pictures of the different colorings for Siamese. 1 Quote
