Ginevra Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 This is a friend from my bunco group. All the ladies are contributing towards a basket of goodies for her. When I have gotten similar baskets, it had: chocolate, magazines, fuzzy socks, lip balm, teas, a teacup, soaps and lotions and a couple of gift cards. Any of those would be okay for this basket, too, but are there *specific* things that are really appreciated by someone in an arm cast? One lady is getting her a hair appointment, because she has a hard time washing her hair. That was a really good idea. Other ideas like that would be so helpful. Quote
Drama Llama Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Do you know if it's her writing hand? If it isn't a puzzle, or an adult coloring book might be appreciated. If it is then probably not. Depending on the type of cast, I might suggest some kind of mittens to go over it. Think giant Bernie Sanders, or one giant one regular. 1 1 Quote
Guest Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 “Bernie Sanders” LOL! But that is a good point; I need to find out if it’s her dominant hand or not. Quote
Guest Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 It is her non-dominant hand, which is fortunate. 2 Quote
Kareni Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 I saw a pepper mill recently that can be operated with one hand. Does she like pepper?! It was something like this. Who knew so many different styles existed? One Two Regards, Kareni Quote

Beth S Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 Cute, cozy socks for while she's on the couch? 2 Quote
plansrme Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 Glad Press 'n Seal. When she can shower, GPNS can be molded around the cast to keep it from getting wet. What I really want to suggest is a knitting needle for when it starts itching, but official medical advice is not to stick anything into the cast. Of course that is impossible to follow, but you probably don't want to be an accessory to actions AMA. 3 Quote
