I have been using the planner from the Well Planned Day for years now and have loved it. It has space for everything, room to track school work for four kids, and is pretty to look at. But now that my kids are older and we have our homeschool “style” pretty well figured out, I find that I have no interest in the articles. There are other features in the planner that seem great but I simply don’t use, although I always tell myself I will (reading lists, budget planning, holiday shopping, attendance and grade sheets, etc.). The biggest downside is the cost. As pretty as the planner is I’m just not sure I want to spend $40 on it for another year.

What other paper planner options are there that people love? It HAS to be paper. I just can’t get into the online versions. I need space to record work for four students, large monthly calendars as well as 2 page, daily spread for each week, something for weekends, nice to look at would be a plus. Other nice-to-have features like shopping lists, meal planning, etc are fine but not essential.

I have a bloom daily planner this school year.  My first planner.  I have 3 kids.  It seems to have all that you mentioned except for space for saturday and sunday in the daily 2 page spread.  The weekends are included in the 2 page monthly spread.  You get one from amazon or https://bloomplanners.com/collections/allplanners

Having said that, I did order the planner Mona mentioned for this next school year.  One reason is because they seem to run out of copies early and I like what I saw on youtube; whereas, there are plenty of Bloom planners to choose from.  One may not get the color scheme one wants if one waits too long, but they all are pretty.  😄

Oh! I love this! Looks like it has everything I want, including some things I didn’t know I wanted like pockets and tabs for the months. And it’ll make me happy to look at it. Important on those stressful school days. LOL

I like these too. Looks like they can be pretty flexible which could be useful.

We have used The Homeschooler's Journal for the last 5-6 years.  It's basic, no-frills, has plenty of space, and holds up well despite heavy use.  My younger kids (whose lessons I direct) share a planner. I used different colored pens to separate out their individual work. My older kids have their own planners.  They are inexpensive enough that I don't mind buying a few a year.

Another vote for Mardel’s A Simple Plan. Have been been using it for 3 years at least and I Love it. Have purchased their planners for the kids as well. Though they are a bit spendy they are really nice. I believe they usually come out with their new planner in February sometime. If you can wait (which I usually can’t) until May or so, they go on sale.
