SKL Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Hi guys. I need some motivation! I have some really boring work that I was supposed to do last night before sleeping. If I don't send it pretty soon to our data entry people, I will be in trouble. Ugh! I've been at my computer for like 2 hours finding any excuse to procrastinate! On the positive side, I think I've done more work this weekend than most weekends, and it's only Sunday morning.... Done: Woke up after sleeping 1 peaceful hour and 2-3 disturbed hours with alarms and anxious dreams. Working on coffee 1. Or is it coffee 2? Who cares? Caught up on emails, news, calendar, social media. To do: Lots of client work. Help get the house ready for the maids? I might skip it in favor of client work. Make the kids do homework & music practice & some cleaning. Laundry. Whatever else gets done. 4 Quote
ScoutTN Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Good morning! Gray day here, blah! The sunshine yesterday was so nice. I am cooking bacon and making coffee. Off to church soon. This afternoon: Think through the week and update my planner and the kitchen calendar. Check on kids’ homework. Lesson prep for Monday students. Watch football? Read or listen to a podcast Make dinner early: meatloaf, asparagus, sweet potatoes. Watch more Lark Rise to Candleford? 2 Quote
TravelingChris Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Good morning! I made bacon today too. We have a meat/veggies CSA and this week we got bacon among the goodies. Help ds move into new apartment Online church sign up for zoom classes check what I am supposed to read for February 3 Quote
readinmom Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Good morning! SKL, wish I could help with the motivation. I used to reward myself with Starbucks if I accomplished my list for the day. Even that is not as exciting anymore because of Covid. I liked to sit, drink my coffee, people watch, reflect. Good luck! Yesterday's vaccine scheduling was frustrating. 11 locations offered, many for those 65+ only, site crashed multiple times until it shut down. I was sent a confirming email with my appt. time, mom's was canceled. Dh refreshed screen over and over, it had him do the last step of choosing an appt. time, then screen blanked out. By the time we got back on, every site was booked. We are very careful, and she doesn't go out, so hoping for another chance to happen soon. Plans for today: breakfast lesson plan/post weekly agenda work on reading journal treadmill workout watch football prime rib for dinner to celebrate dd and my mom's birthdays (18 and 90) read for 52 week challenge relax 3 Quote
mom31257 Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 SKL, I wish I could help on the motivation because I need some myself. Far too often, I tend to do things when they HAVE to be done. We are back from church. Dh and ds are watching another episode of Band of Brothers. Ds is to WW2 in both his world and US history. I'm about to go collect laundry. 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Dh and dd began feeling unwell yesterday and got tested. Positive. Ugh! We have a very small house, so no way to isolate. So we did online church and I am spending my day re-arranging our life. Cancel this, reschedule that. Glad for the stimulus check since cancelling all my in-person tutoring students for two weeks will mean some income loss. Dinner is meatloaf, sweet potatoes, and asparagus. 4 Quote
mom31257 Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 Scout, I am so sorry! I pray they have mild symptoms and that you and ds don't get it! 1 1 Quote
mom31257 Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 I am adding grocery store run and driving the items to a family. The co-teacher of our SS class (Dh is a teacher, too) has Covid double pneumonia. He is at home and responding well to steroids. His wife is an ICU nurse, so I'm glad she knows what to do. Several meals are already being brought, so some of us are going in together to get sandwich fixings and fruit. 3 Quote

readinmom Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 I attempted to make rolls, and they seem to be rising. After Scout's news, I went and had a Covid test/flu test. I've had a sore throat and ear pressure, which I usually get this time of year, strep throat. It always hits me in late January. Both results were negative, so a call to doctor tomorrow for antibiotics Prime rib is in the oven, smells heavenly football watching in progress 3 Quote
mom31257 Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 readinmom, I'm so glad your results were negative! Feel better soon! Got the groceries and took them to friend 2nd load of laundry is about done washing chicken pot pie is in the oven It has dairy, so I can't eat it. I'm not super hungry, so I might make one of my grilled cheeses. I found this vegan cheese that makes a yummy one! 1 Quote
mom31257 Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 My sister just texted me, and her dh has been vomiting and had diarrhea all day. He refused to go to an urgent care place to get tested for Covid because he isn't having breathing problems. He is older and doesn't always seem to have the best judgment. Pray that it isn't Covid because he also has diabetes, high blood pressure, and COPD. This is the sister where my dad has been the last several days. 2 Quote
ScoutTN Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Listened to Close Reads Patreon podcast on the last fee chapters in The Fellowship of the Ring. Fabulous! Thankful to have such sweet community - lots of texts and emails from friends offering to pick up groceries or bring meals, and saying they are praying for us. Church friends, school/homeschool, AHG, Scouts. 1 Quote
