ScoutTN Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 (edited) Good morning! Today: Boy to school ✔️ Dd to her tutorial Shower Deskwork, lots and lots. Start dinner early. Which requires figuring out what it will be! Maybe tutor one student? He was ill yesterday so I need to check in with his mom. Clean bathrooms. Not sure what else yet. TheReader Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Good morning! Today, I have: ...coffee ...when it warms up, go to the store ...make sure everything is ready for 2nd grade for tomorrow ...check on K math, b/c a mom says I skipped some stuff (I think I know what it is, and was intentional, but I told her I'd double check) ...email the moms of the 2 new K kids and see if they are ok putting name/phone/email on the class contact list so I can send that home next week ...find a better container(s) for the magnet kit for class, b/c putting all the bits back in the right slot in the original box makes clean-up a pain (will shop my upstairs closet for this) ...sewing stuff: make another practice curve block, work on my scant 1/4" seam, put binding on placemats that have been waiting for years ...figure out dinner ...anything I'm forgetting 2 Quote
BlsdMama Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Drat! I asked the eyecare place to send me a receipt WITH a date of service this time and they sent me the same thing so that won't get crossed off. Resent the request and explained the issue. Scheduled FIVE kiddos for eye exams instead of 2. Feeling like an overachiever. Got dates for an AHG leader to take CPR. Would love to see that scheduled today. ... Trots off to gather short people and do bible and school. 3 Quote

I miss doing Bible and school with short people!! Teens are wearing me out and I miss snuggling on the couch and hugs from 5yos. 2 Quote
TheReader Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 @ScoutTN, missing those short people hugs is why I started teaching K at our co-op ❤️ Gosh, but it's been fun! I got so many cute cards and notes yesterday full of "I mist you" and "to mis v" and such ❤️ ....sent an email reply to a mom asking about 3rd grade (no, not my domain, here is what we offer at our co-op for that.....) ....sent the 2 class contact list emails I needed to send ....checking the math stuff, and am confused.....need to dig into that 1 Quote
TheReader Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Okay, figured out the math, it is what I thought, and it's fine. Whew. Texting that mom back now and will send an email giving parents permission to also do the skipped unit if they want to (somehow I left out the unit on capacity/volume in their "over the break" list....). Warmed up, and DH needs to do the store now to have time for meetings later, so doing that. 2 Quote
ScoutTN Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 We have clean bathrooms. A significant , if fleeting, accomplishment for the day! 🙂 2 Quote
TheReader Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Home from the grocery store, groceries all put away. Grabbing some food, then prepping the 2nd grade stuff. I may have to send a yucky email later (technically, the student who emailed yesterday morning saying they were not coming back, still owes tuition for this month, per our co-op guidelines. I don't love that rule, at all, and prefer to just let it go, but.....:sigh: I have a draft sitting in the "drafts" box......) Also, it had "warmed up" to 38 degrees. I have no idea how y'all endure these ridiculous temperatures (especially Margaret with her -24 and such!!!). So.freaking.cold. 2 Quote
ScoutTN Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Moved the laundry, folded and put away a load. Made a bed. Did a bunch of AHG things, though still tons to do. Had second b'fast Next up: a shower, then call my mom 2 Quote
TheReader Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 (edited) decided on dinner, took meat out to thaw (variation of chili/cornbread casserole stuff) printed the 2nd grade stuff, working on the homework page to print as well Edited January 12, 2021 by TheReader 2 Quote
mom31257 Posted January 12, 2021 Author Posted January 12, 2021 I miss having little ones, too. Teaching them does help! Ds will give me a good hug from time to time, especially if I initiate it. But I miss reading stories and snuggling. He went through a phase when he woke up in the mornings he wanted me to sit on the couch and lay in my lap and rub my neck. That was nice! Dd always wanted me to rub her back when she was going to sleep, and she'll still let me do that, but she's rarely here. 2 Quote
TheReader Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Everything is ready for 2nd grade for tomorrow, including the timeline book for the new boy, etc. Sent the uncomfortable email, and consider that now closed. Fielded a few more random parent questions, answered those. Got the last of yesterday's surprise laundry put away (I am so grateful my family did that for me). Reprinted tuition record sheets for 2nd semester, with the updated rosters. Vegged out and watched the latest episode of Good Doctor, which is giving me whiplash. The first episode(s) was All Covid, All the Time. Then the interim episodes have been What Covid?? And now, back from winter break, it's Covid-PTSD in the doctors. Agh. Running with DH to FedEx.... 1 Quote
LifeLovePassion Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 I feel so accomplished. I finished a huge chunk of grading I had procrastinated on. (5th grade Social Studies-FT distance class). I have a little more checking up to do on math and ELA, so I hope I can get it all to a more manageable level by the end of the week. 2 Quote
TheReader Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Dinner was a hit, the kids are hanging out in DS's room, DH and I are looking for something to do. Got an email from one of his teachers.....he has homework due tomorrow. Oops. I am relatively certain we missed that. :sigh: (they had ended with a big project, so I thought that was that; they are switching teachers, so it made sense that there wouldn't be something assigned from the one, due/graded by the other.....I thought; apparently, I thought wrong). She also wants them to have Quizlet on their phones, so we need to do that. Going to find some TV or something to watch with DH and call it a night. 1 Quote
ScoutTN Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Tutored. Opened new lamps and put them where they go. Packed lunch for Ds Chatted with Dd about piano, math, and musical theater. She is so fun! I love my girl. Dinner was baked ziti and salad. I had my sauce and cheese over polenta. Not bad. Dh cleaned up the kitchen. ❤️ My ear was hurting, so I took some extra vit D and made vit C tea with lemon and ginger. Snuggled into bed and hoping my peeps will be quietish so I can go to sleep early. Reading Late Bloomers. Next up: The Literary Life podcast. Quote
