I just got new progressive lens glasses today.  I am coming from regular lined bifocals.

How do you get used to these?   Honestly I only wore my bifocals out in public and driving   at home I didn't wear any glasses.

With these progressive lenses it seems like the computer distance isn't great   maybe I am looking through them wrong though.

Any hints/tips?

My DH found that you get what you pay for with progressives. The more expensive the lens, the further to the edges the progressives work. So with cheaper lenses, his peripheral vision wasn’t right (driving, going down stairs, etc), but with the zillion dollar ones he adjusted quite quickly.

Like Laura said, keep them on all day for several days (my optometrist says two weeks) and see if things get better.  And agreeing with Arctic Bunny that it's important to get high quality lenses.

I went right to them without an adjustment period, but I know what you mean about the computer. I used to have a job that required a full day in front of a computer that was a laptop and a second monitor, I often had trouble finding just the right place to see everything well all at the same time. I solved that by enlarging the print size on the computer just a bit.

Also, there is such a thing as trifocal glasses. A third viewing distance can be added so that there is one for distance, one for reading, and one for computer use. I had a pair of those back when we had really good insurance, but it is cheaper just to enlarge the computer screen.
