ScoutTN Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 (edited) Happy New Year! Praying for health, healing, and hope in 2021. Our dog is markedly better today! SO relieved!!!!! It’s warm, windy, and sunny here after crazy hard rain early this morning - definitely heading out for a walk soon. We all slept late. I had a good b’fast and coffee, Zoomed with a friend, done a bit of tidying up, and listened to half a podcast. To do: Check a History assignment for Dd. ✔️ Get the new laptop out of the box and set it up. ✔️ Budget/bills Call mom ✔️ Pick up CSA box ✔️ Send Dh to pick up Rxs. ✔️ Read, relax, watch football etc. Dinner is ham, risotto, white beans, and whatever green veggie comes in my CSA box. SKL Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 (edited) Happy New Year! This day is my reward for accomplishing all the year-end things yesterday. I managed to finish all the date-sensitive client work, decide and make all the year-end donations, walk enough to hit 4 miles/day [average] for December, and complete my last 3 hours of CLE (should have been only 1 hour but one of the CLE vendors is having some kind of problem). I wasn't there for my kids much, but we had a nice sit-down dinner prepared by dd13! I don't know how I lucked out with a cook in the family! A friend inspired me years ago with a little NYD ritual - spend at least some time doing each thing you want to do over the coming year. So I hope to do that today. Someone in my house also wants to have a meeting about things we all should be better about in 2021. While I appreciate the sentiment, I don't see this being a pleasant conversation, so I'd rather not. [Ugh, just the thought is dampening my mood.] Done: A little reading before sleeping post-midnight. Woke up about 9am, no alarm, alone and quiet for a change. Nice! Did my yoga routine & practiced TKD forms. Did some cleaning and organizing in my bedroom. Organized an old file for the charity I co-founded in the early 1990s. I got everything arranged by year. Did a little cleaning downstairs and folded some laundry. Watered the Christmas tree. Ate an orange. Made an Amazon order - vitamins, coffee, a guitar book, a CD player. Put on my Posturator & Invisalign. Caught up on calendar and emails and most of social media (excluding facebook). Just finished coffee 2. To do: Finish checking news and social media. [done] Laundry and dishes. Some cleaning and organizing in my kids' rooms. Especially going through old bags and bins of stuff and repurposing some storage spaces. Spend a little time playing music - preferably on all the instruments I want to learn / refresh this year. Get my Excel files for tax info and continuing education credits caught up to date. Get some client work done - mainly clearing stuff that was in progress as of yesterday, filing, etc. - to reduce the clutter in my mind? Process and clear a lot of emails, especially personal ones. Transfer the remaining photos from my old computer to my new computer. Organize them, send some to others who should have a copy, and maybe post some on facebook. Try to get a good amount of walking done ... but it's been freezing-raining outside all day, so we'll see. Try to finish a book I'm reading and start a new one if possible. Encourage my kids to do something good with their time ... they have homework, music practice, and cleaning to do, but it's a "holiday," so .... Watch movies with my kids - as this is what they consider a nice holiday. Whatever else gets done. Edited January 1, 2021 by SKL 3 Quote
popmom Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 (edited) Slept way too late. Wrote up an outline template for youngest dd to get her started on a paper that is due soon. Paid bills. Put out feelers among friends for a good non profit attorney. Got one really good lead on that. Watched Auburn lose. War Eagle anyway!!! Currently rooting for Bama to shred Notre Dame. Najee!!!! About to get out my calendar to plan out the month. We need to get the carpet replaced in our condo in Auburn because we are thinking about selling it. So I will need to go down there and spend several days cleaning and dealing with that. We are also in the middle of doing a bunch of stuff to our own house, so I need to make a tentative plan on my calendar for getting all of that done asap. ETA: I emailed and voicemailed the attorney. Fingers crossed she will get back to us quickly. Edited January 1, 2021 by popmom 2 Quote

Replied with a hearty YES t an invitation for Ds to go play Airsoft tomorrow for most of the day. Hooray for outdoor fun with friends for my boy! Met some neighbors snd stood outside chatting for about 30 minutes. Tidied the kitchen and am getting dinner started. 2 Quote
ScoutTN Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 Did a few electronic chores, packed a lunch for Ds, tidied the kitchen, made hot cocoa for kids and tea for me. On to books and the podcast I still haven’t finished. 1 Quote
popmom Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 (edited) I just spent an hour previewing/planning Unit 3 of TOG. We start back...well today. Dd has assignments due Tuesday. I was really slack last semester, and I can tell the difference. It really helps if I'm having discussions w/ her several days a week about what she is reading/writing. I'm ready to get back to it. I mean it's a co-op class. My burden is light in this particular subject. I guess that's what makes it so easy for me to drop the ball. Edited January 2, 2021 by popmom Quote
SKL Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 I did most of what I listed (at least to some extent), except that the weather never got good enough for walking outside. I also paid some bills and did a few additional things. Still lots more to do over the weekend! 1 Quote
