Ottakee Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 My sister says I should buy These headphones and I will love them. I hate headphones. Those ear bud kind drive me nuts but I wear them when I want to take a walk and talk to a friend out of state. If they are really comfortable, I would wear them to listen to audiobooks or possibly music . If you tend to hate headphones, are these really better? Quote
EKS Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 I have a different model from the same manufacturer. I LOVE them. It's like magic they way you can hear everything around you as well as what you're listening to. Also, they are very comfortable, nothing like earbuds. 1 Quote
SounderChick Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 I like them and find them more comfortable than ear buds. Quote
SanDiegoMom Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 My daughter bought some and they might have just been a bad set -- she rarely uses them and got airpods this year instead. I do know that when she tried to talk to me over the phone with them they were awful. She got them primarily to swim with though (I guess they are water proof?) and then all the pools shut down here. Go figure. Quote
MEmama Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 My DH loves his Aftershocks. He mainly uses them for conference calls, working out (cycling and running so really sweaty) and watching shows. He wears them for hours and they don’t get uncomfortable. Quote
happi duck Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Giving this a bump and listening in! 1 Quote
Ottakee Posted December 31, 2020 Author Posted December 31, 2020 I am still trying to decide if they are worth trying or not. Quote
purpleowl Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 My husband loves his. I'm thinking of getting my own. Quote
happi duck Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 I've also been considering neck speakers but the ones that seem to get the best ratings are Bose/$300ish. I can't be comfortable if I feel like I can't hear what's going on around me so I've never worn headphones for anything. Quote
gardenmom5 Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Th, I would need a lot more info about if they're even safe for long term hearing. Dueling and I both did tomatis, and some of the testing is on bone conduction hearing. Then comparing it to aural hearing. We both had better bone conduction hearing than aural hearing. One goal of tomatis therapy is reversing that, so aural is dominant. There are a number of issues when bone conduction is stronger. Quote

I'm completely different. I wear headphones if I don't want to hear what is going on around me. I want to tune the environment out and just listen to my music or audiobook. Chances are that if I can hear the conversations & noise around me, I won't be able to concentrate on what I'm listening to. 2 Quote

Supposedly with this type you can hear what is going on around you ....hence they are supposed to be safer for walking, etc. 1 Quote
Monica_in_Switzerland Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 I love them. Love love love. I have Aftershokz, can't remember which model. I use them to listen to audiobooks or music when I run, cook, clean, run errands... I am not a sound quality snob, so I don't know if they are perfect for someone who is a huge music fan, but audiobooks, phone calls, music, netflix... all sound great. They are so comfortable to wear I forget I have them on. I feel much safer wearing them outdoors because they don't block other sounds. I could go on and on about how much I love them. 2 Quote

I think I sent the first ?three? (including sony's) I bought back because they were simply inadequate to the task. dh told me to just spend the money. So, I bought a pair of (open box return to save me $$$) Bose. 2 Quote
