Who has watched it?  Did you love it? We liked but didn't love it like the first....................., .................................................................................., ..................................................................................................................................

Spoilers:.........

..., ........................................................................................................................................., .........................................................................................................................................

we all wondered about the poor guys who's body was used by Steve. Was he in the body to and aware, unaware, in something else, dead?

I thought the fashion montage was stupid but the kids liked it.

We just finished it. We use a rating system after every movie in our house. The choices are 2 thumbs up, 1 thumb up, 1 thumb down, or 2 thumbs down. 😁 four of us gave it one thumb up, and one of us gave it one thumb down. So overall, we liked it.

It seemed cheesy. I thought perhaps I was being overly critical because I saw it Christmas night and I was tired. But I’m hearing lots of similar sentiments about it. Kristin Wiig seemed like odd casting.

I liked it, but it was a completely different film from the first. And it took quite a while to get into its stride, I thought. But by the end I thought it was an interesting film, especially if you can remember the sheer nuclear fear of the 80s. It really evoked that feeling, that a mistake could trigger the end of the world at any moment.

I'm afraid we were with Choirfarm3. We were all really disappointed.  It was nowhere as cohesive or interesting as the first movie. Too many plot holes and the villains really weren't very interesting.

ETA: the worst is that the first WW was the only DC movie we have liked in a long time.

DH and I mostly thought it was very cheesy, with DH commenting that, "well, for whatever reason, DC never can produce believable stories the way Marvel can...." (meaning in the recent movies).

Our boys had mixed reactions, but overall liked it/found it at least entertaining, though not great. Our middle DS made the comment that this is why he goes into movies w/zero expectation -- it wasn't a let-down or disappointment to him, as he'd not been expecting/looking forward to it like we were. It definitely seems like a film where (at least in our family) expectations (or lack thereof) definitely impacted perception of the movie.

I agree with your husband.  I'm not sure why since obviously none of them are realistic at all, but the Marvel movies do feel more believable, which allows you (me) to get more into the movie.  I'm not constantly pulled out with realization that it's just a movie.

I do prefer the light, snarky humor of the Marvel movies to the darkness of DC, but I did like the first Wonder Woman and I found Aquaman fairly entertaining.   Although maybe that was just Jason Momoa.  There was definitely some of that snarky humor usually found in Marvel.

I haven't watched the second WW movie yet; that's on the list for tonight.  I loved the first one.  But other than the first WW movie and Shazam, I have not been at all impressed with the DC movies, especially compared with the awesomeness that is Marvel.

Same; we went through all the DC movies after watching WW84 and came up with the same list -- we actually *liked* the first WW, and Shazam was good, but......whereas on the flip side, it's harder to come up with which Marvel movies were duds.

LOL, our youngest said almost exactly that, about "believable?" Somehow they convince you, though. DH thinks it's the characters; they feel more human somehow. (but then our kids said "yea, but are heroes supposed to feel human???")

Yes, first WW and Shazam are the only ones we enjoyed of the DC.

I liked at least the first of the Christian Bale Batman series.  I am not sure if people count those as DC movies.

Yes, we also like the lightness and comedy in the marvel movies.  Their seemed to be a couple of missed comedic chances.

The character development just isn't as good.  The heroes in DC are admirable but not as relatable.  Marvel makes, trees, villains even talking computers likeable.

I kinda liked Wonder Woman 1984, but I have some serious questions.

1) Where was the guy whose body Steve stole while Steve was alive?

2) Where did Steve learn to fly a modern jet?

3) Where did they get fuel for the jet Steve flew?

4) Where is the invisible jet now?  Did she lose it, like the coffee cup?

I had all these same questions! 😅

I also liked the first WW better, but thought this one was fun. And while a bit cheesy, has nothing on the last WW set in the 80s (or was that the late 70s?). Shakespeare in comparison...  😂

We watched last night.

I thought the acting was good and enjoyed all the main characters.

Visuals were decent, except Cheetah at the end, terrible.

The writing was really lacking. As mentioned the plot holes were huge.

In addition to the above questions I wondered where the heck she went to get the plane in the first place, how did she have clearance, it didn't explain any of that.

WW1 was a million times better.
