Woke up after about 2.5 hours and been awake about 2 even though took more medicines that should make me sleepy (couldn't take more trazadone- which I am prescribe for sleep, though). So after doing things like ordering from Amazon and messagin my doctor I decided to start a list,

Make yogurt smoothy and oatmeal too for breakfast

call my doctor

call people to try to see if we can set up dependent care FSA at this point

call neurologist and set up video appt sooner than the one scheduled

find Mayo info and start process for getting an appointment

call to schedule mammogram

therapist visit

check out plumbing and call another plumber to come earlier than Thursday ( we now have 2 separate plumbing issues and one needs root removal)

shop for dh and ds for clothes gifts

shop for my slippers

make that Leek Potato soup

forget about veggie dinner for now and make dinner with ground beef

order fish

figure out what we are having for Christmas Day dinner and either order or remove from Fridge

Good morning!  What a pleasant surprise to see this thread already started.  Sorry, Chris, but apparently we both have company this morning.

I have a client that is stressing me out.  Not their fault.  Just a couple things that are way more trouble than anyone could have predicted.  Trying to move an audit forward, and as of last night, apparently just about everyone on the job in 3 organizations is on leave until January!  This was all I could think about as I rolled around in bed.  Ugh!  Normally I am a champion sleeper.  But somehow, lying down intensifies my stress when I have an unresolved problem.  So I got up, even though there isn't much I can do about the problem that's bugging me.

And since I'm on a bit of a rant ... I have extended family drama on my mind.  Current events are making us all even crazier than usual.  My folks and their 6 kids all have different views on family get-togethers.  And both of my sisters have been dumping on each other and on other siblings about multiple issues.  One historic family issue that I can't discuss here, or anywhere, is behind some of it, and I'm so disappointed in someone, but I can't control any of it.  .... I am viewed as the sane, calm, stable, logical one.  (Ha!)  The one who can give others comfort with my words of wisdom.  (Ha ha!)  So I got a text yesterday from sibling A "I yelled at sibling B and he went and ranted at Dad for hours, so now Mom says Dad is very depressed, so can you call Dad and make him feel better?"  Somehow today I need to decide how to address this in between everything else.  Can't I just run away?

And now it's almost time for the kids to start online school.

Done:

  • Woke up.
  • Coffee 1.
  • Caught up on emails, social media, calendar, news.
  • Texted sister.
  • Woke the kids.

To do:

  • Kids' school follow-up.
  • Lots of client work.
  • Pay bills.
  • Make appointments - dental and (hopefully) chiropractor.
  • Program the programmable Christmas lights.
  • Buy gift cards for Christmas cards.  Also buy some candy / stocking stuffers.
  • Kids' trumpet lesson - Christmas card with gift card for teacher.
  • Write & send Christmas cards to everyone else.
  • Church with the kids.
  • Dishes, laundry, etc.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Good morning! I never checked in yesterday as I did *nothing* and it was lovely. Well, I woke up with the start of a migraine, but took all the meds and went back to bed and that kicked the headache part of the migraine to the curb, and left only the extra-sleepy part. I always have to remind my family "just because the medicine got rid of the headache, does not mean it can get rid of the 'sleep all day' part...."

So, today....was up early but tried to stay in bed, and managed a fitful/wakeful extra hour and a half (from 5 to 6:30) before actually getting up for coffee. So, on to my list....

....coffee
....get some school prep done (I prepped over the summer for first semester, and have a general outline for 2nd semester, but need to start filling in details)
....take the boys to the beach/fishing (it will be fairly deserted here)
....pick a sewing project to have going during the break (ooh, I think I just decided.....will quilt that house collage I made a while ago....)
....read some in my current book (the kids are "encouraging" me to read The Golden Compass/the His Dark Materials trilogy)
....dinner is tacos, to use up the tortillas we have (soft tacos)
....movie night? board game night? not sure....(we have Matrix 3 in the queue, and I don't know if we're going to do Pirates...4 & 5 or stop after 3, which we watched over the weekend.....)

Have a good day, all!

I have GOT to work on my National Boards, I am so far behind!~.  I will dedicate at least 3 hours to it today, and I have nowhere to go and nothing other than someone coming to the house at noon for our FS's therapy session, so I have a lot of time to devote to it!

I will delegate everything else.   I have offered to pay my son handsomely to clean today and he needs $$ so he says he will do it. 😁   He is good at it and I would rather pay him than someone coming in to my house (and he is still cheaper!)

Other things I hope to get done but aren't pressing:

  • list our kitchen table
  • list boys' old desks for sale or free

So, yesterday I got a flu shot and a pneumonia shot. My arm is Sore!! I'm taking OTC meds and icing it. Therefore, I probably won't get much done today. But if I do feel like it, I need to:

fold laundry

cook dinner

make a dessert for the holidays

clean and organize in back hallway

start cleaning a wall in my bedroom I would like to paint

Good morning!

I started the antibiotic last night. I put in a call to the neurologist's office. I let them know about the RMSF diagnosis and asked if it could be causing my symptoms. Should I get the tests next week or wait until after this medicine and see? We'll see what they say.

We are waiting to hear if niece and her family can join us tonight. They are trying to get rapid tests because their son's teacher tested positive for Covid this week.

If we can get together, we'll have our family Christmas tonight because dh's brother is off work today.

My arm was sore for three days recently when I got the shingles vax. It woke me up in the middle of the night when I rolled over on it after the ibuprofen had worn off. Amazing how one part of the body out of whack can wreck a day! Glad you got your vax, though!

Our family Christmas here is called off. Our great nephew's teacher tested positive, but now some students in his class have, so they are to quarantine. Unfortunately, they spent several hours with dh's brother before knowing this. So I think we will do porch gift exchanges and then do Facetime or Zoom sessions to watch each other open them.

Stacked the firewood I bought yesterday in the back yard and left a small pile inside.
Vacuumed out my car - wood chips and dust everywhere.
Reminded Ds to clean the kitchen.
Shooed Dd back to her school work. She is having to study on break to catch up in History. Classes for mom always seem to be last on her priority list, but I am not willing to let her start the second semester behind.
Read the mail. Several WTM boardie cards today!

Next up:
Decide whether to attend the Zoom meeting that my mom's assisted living place is having or just wait for the email summary
Check in with a friend about bringing a gift by her house tomorrow.

Got good news and bad news. Good - All residents and staff in my mom's place tested negative, so they can eat in the dining room again, beginning tomorrow. So there will be a fun, nice Christmas dinner for them. And some activities with small groups. Bad (though expected) - BSA day camp is cancelled/postponed. Ds will be really bored next week! He desperately needs people and activity.

Texted a friend, but haven't heard back.
Wrapped ALL of my remaining gifts! Still have one yet to arrive. Dh will has some left to wrap, always.

Dinner in a while. Watching The Right Stuff  tonight.
