mommyoffive Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 What are you excited about today? Anything big or small counts. I have 2 things I am excited about I ordered a bathroom storage shelf that I have wanted forever and just never bought. It was out of stock forever during the pandemic. I can't wait for it. Then last night I ordered a small trampoline, the little mini ones for adults. Kids are getting a new trampoline for the basement, but alas I won't fit on that for height. I again have wanted one of these forever. Now granted I will have to have to go to the bathroom right before every time I use it, because of child birth. But I can't wait to be jumping around. 6 Quote
JustEm Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 We are making Christmas ornaments, hopefully with my sister (depends on if the roads clear up from the snow storm last night.) Making ornaments is a family tradition from when I was younger. My sister and I in particular love keeping the tradition alive so I really hope she is able to make it over. It will be a great distraction from the house issues we're having right now. 6 Quote
MEmama Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 DS was accepted to his number one US university a couple days ago and I’m still giddy about his accomplishment. 🙂 The snow today is soooo pretty! I’m hoping it will help get me into the holiday spirit. 🎄 13 Quote
MooCow Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 For the first time in years, I’m baking gingerbread people to decorate and hopefully I will freeze most of them for Christmas Day. 🙂 6 Quote

Using ours cleared a painful swollen lymph gland I had for years. I had seen two doctors about it, multiple times, and it wouldn't resolve. Using the trampoline took care of it! So cool. 3 Quote

Spryte Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 A nap. Maybe a bike ride, if the nap does its job. Wrapping presents to mail. 5 Quote
PeterPan Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 We're going to town soon to buy a new kind of night pants for my ds that claim to be Overnights (Depends for men, but higher capacity). Maybe these will solve things and I finally won't be washing bedding so often!!! Also, I'm down to 8 bins and a pile of fabric to sort, then my clutter catching former homeschool room plus sewing room plus everything got dumped in it for 6-9 years room will be CLEAN!!! I can actually already see most of the floor and the counter surfaces. I just have a few bins left. It's my Christmas present to myself. 4 Quote

You are almost there. I am currently trying to do this to my basement. But I just started. 😞 Quote
athena1277 Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 (edited) Went went to see Santa at Cabelas today. I made my teens go so I could get a picture with all 3 kids. Mostly it was for dd4. She was so excited. It’s amazing to us that she is so super shy around new people, but she will go right up to Santa and talk his head off. We enjoyed her happiness. Sometimes I forget and then get mad at myself for squandering the opportunity. Lol DH didn’t used to sleep during the day but 2020 finally cured him. He’s seen the light. 🙂 2 1 Quote

Do you jump everyday? If you google lymphatic draining and rebounding, you'll find lots of articles. The lymph nodes have one-way valves; jump up and they close, jump down and they open. They don't have their own "pump," so motion is necessary to increase flow. I would not have believed the results if I hadn't seen them myself. I had been on tons of different antibiotics trying to get rid of the swelling of this one gland. And if you've ever had a swollen gland, you know they can be really sore and tender. Literally within a week of starting daily rebounding, I was much improved. After several weeks (if I'm remembering correctly), I had no pain. Occasionally it would come back (usually a couple days before either me or someone in my house got sick!). If I rebounded again, it resolved. It must have a faulty valve or something. I haven't noticed it much at all for at least several years now. I don't jump every day, but I should! It's good exercise and has other benefits, too! Edited December 17, 2020 by MercyA 2 Quote

Emba Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Snuggly socks with kitty faces on them and a new rose-scented conditioner. I went Christmas shopping for stocking stuffers, and picked these up for myself. I may put them in my stocking, I may not. It seems silly to stuff my own stocking, and there would be no surprise to it. A lot of the pleasure of opening gifts is the surprise, for me. 1 Quote

Ali in OR Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Last day of work! (I work in a high school--last day of school is today). And it's payday, and I worked extra last month so paycheck is bigger (but it's the last until end of January). This week work has been harder and I'm missing the usual holiday excitement--goodies in the mailroom, exchanging cards, festivity with students. But I'm also very thankful for this job which allows me to do what I love. 4 Quote
