An interesting ad popped up on facebook, and while I"m not sold on the company being advertised I'm interested in the product.  So...does anybody have experience with wooden puzzles?  Some are shown as having non-standard-shaped pieces, which would be a fun change.  They are quite expensive so I don't want to buy something that my family will finish in an hour.

For those who are curious, the initial ad was for a company called carveyourname, but the non-standard English in places on the site made me wonder if it was a legit company.  But, the pieces are so interesting!  My first cursory search turned up nookpuzzles, and I'm looking for others.  I'd love some suggestions!

Liberty Puzzles are WONDERFUL. Made in the USA. Classic art, new stuff, holidays, custom, whatever you want.

https://www.libertypuzzles.com/wooden-jigsaw-puzzles/adoration-of-the-magi  This is our annual Christmas puzzle. I need to get it out. And yes, the custom pieces are very fun. When it's out, guests are drawn to join in.

We LOVE Liberty puzzles-- they are worth every penny!  I think we have 5 so far... and I've given custom ones as gifts.

I will be disappointed if I do not get one for Christmas!

Hehe, I've bought some for myself. I'm not exceptionally good at puzzles, so sometimes I get ones that are too hard for me to do! LOL

Did anyone notice it's saying they now have a WAIT LIST? Wow, 53 days!! But they're that good. You could also buy them used on ebay probably. I've seen them in the past there.

They are great and they SMELL wonderful because of the laser cutting off the wood. I don't find then terribly difficult, but it is so much fun to study the special pieces. The ones I've done have all been Liberty, so they all have people, birds, the Liberty eagle logo, specific references to the puzzle, etc. Lots of fun.

All that said, i think the cutting tools are not too hard to come-by, i remember somebody selling small puzzles at the local farmers market a few years ago, so you could probably get something similar from a lesser known company with no problem.
