TheReader Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Praying, Amy! Today I have: ...coffee ...help DS19 with his paper, as needed, and studying for math ...make sure DS15 gets up in time for his classes ...Zoom Show & Tell at 2 for 2nd grade (2 of the 3 non-paying parents, paid; yay!) ...sew the 8th/final quilt top (my mom asked for it, I said yes, DH says that's a bad idea since it was my dad's brother....:sigh:...) ...take DS to youth group ...maybe go to Kohl's and exchange some Christmas gifts -- youngest DS announced that this year he'd like "anything BUT red" for his flannel shirts.....after we bought him 3 varieties of red/white, red/black, red/multi shirts. Oops. ...dinner......???? usually breakfast for dinner on Weds, but not sure. ...maybe have time to start the quilting on the 8 panels; we shall see ...wash sheets 2 1 Quote
mom31257 Posted December 9, 2020 Author Posted December 9, 2020 Zoom classes are done. About to get a shower and then lunch. 3 Quote
TheReader Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Kids are up. Looked through the various sources; realized I can't actually help DS study/research, as I haven't seen the lecture &/or video to base the paper off of, but I've gathered it all and he should be able to handle it once he's done with the math final. Other DS is up in time for class and eating breakfast. Sheets are in the wash. Going to eat something myself and then sew #8 and a Christmas card while being available for DS19 studying for math. 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Moved the laundry Chx in marinade, cooked, potatoes, packed my lunch, and tidied the kitchen. Culled my inbox. This makes me so happy! Next up: two in-person tutoring students. 3 Quote
SKL Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Howdy, happy Wednesday! So last night my kid was up until like 3am after deciding to color her hair and then doing all her OCD procedures during her shower etc. Meanwhile, I decided to do some devotions using a book my church's women's book club is using right now. (I'm not doing the book club, but the book sounded interesting, so I bought it.) Well, early on in the first lesson, they mention that a certain line is in Handel's Messiah. I decided I needed to listen to Handel's Messiah to get the full experience. I have never listened to much of it before. So that was 2+ hours of what should have been my sleeping time. The idea that Bible study can be quick seems to be totally lost on me this week. Last time, I downloaded a study on the meaning of seasonal hymns. It took me at least an hour to get through one hymn. And there are dozens more hymns to go! Anyhoo ... I went to bed around 5:45 and needed to be up by 7am to take out the garbage, then wake the kids. I'm in a training all day today, and trying to work and do my usual other things with the training in the background. The problem is that I'm a very poor listener unless I'm doing something completely mindless, like a jigsaw puzzle. So I feel like it's gonna be a wasted day. I need to call the vet to make a vet appointment for our bird. Apparently the doc doesn't work on Saturdays. Iwill call now and get back on my training in a couple minutes. back later! 3 Quote
SKL Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 So the vet is not answering the phone. I'll go back to my to-dos .... To do: Minor work that can be done without missing too much of the lectures. Get through to the vet and make an appointment. Finish the online training and log it. Pay dental bill, make dental appointments. Check school stuff, make the kids get their work done. TKD with the kids. Online church with the kids. Walk, read, etc. Try to make everyone go to bed earlier tonight! Whatever else gets done. 3 Quote
TheReader Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 helping DS study; have gotten through the bits I can help with, and he/we are now eating lunch and then he needs to watch a review video from his prof. I would love a nap, but seems unlikely today lunch, maybe sew, then Zoom call 1st set of sheets are in the dryer, others in the wash, about to go swap those around/rotate/move laundry along hopefully DS has time to also go through the practice exam once more (at least some of the questions) but if not, he seems much more confident this morning at least 2 Quote
mom31257 Posted December 9, 2020 Author Posted December 9, 2020 I'm back from the doctor. He wants to do an MRI. He's very curious about me having a schwannoma on my septum 8 years ago. That's very unusual because they are usually in the brain. My sister had one in her neck prior to that. He is ordering some blood work on my thyroid and kidneys and wants to do nerve tests on my arms and legs. Those are all scheduled during our two week Christmas break. He did say he didn't think it was Parkinson's, so there is that. Thanks for thinking of me!! 3 Quote

TravelingChris Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Today has been a rest day for me after two days of multiple appointments. I think I will do medical paperwork for a while. 2 Quote
ScoutTN Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 I ended up picking up Ds from school after all. Pretty day. I didn't mind the drive. Chx is in the oven. Brussels sprouts and snap peas are prepped. Moved the laundry. Packed Ds' lunch for tomorrow. Set up my tutoring Zoom. I hope the screen share works! We have been having trouble with it lately. 3 Quote
TheReader Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Amy, I'm glad it sounds like this doctor is on the track to find things out. Still praying. DS finished his math exam -- 86!!!! Woot!! (now, if oldest could pass his tomorrow.....that would be fan.freaking.tastic.) Other DS finished his Biology test/class -- yay. I finished the 8th/final panel, and everyone declared them Very Good. Laundry got shuffled. Made a Christmas card for my stepmom, and wrote her a note, etc. so that's ready to mail as soon as I can finish the panels and mail that off to my dad. Dad knows to intercept her gift, and put the card with it when it all gets there. I do need to find/note the absolute shipping deadlines so it gets there before Christmas...... No idea for dinner. No idea if there was anything else on the list......D&D got bumped back to Saturday, so now DS does have Thurs/Fri for his paper (vs just Thurs), so we get a little breather. going to figure out dinner and tidy up stuff..... 2 1 Quote
ScoutTN Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 Last student tutored. Dinner is cleaned up. Doing laundry. Rough night on the parenting front here. Failing utterly as a parent in general, having already failed as a homeschool mom for this kid. I really don't like him much lately. The stress from this kid is creating an autoimmune cascade in my body. Two diseases in 8 months. What's next? 2 Quote
mom31257 Posted December 10, 2020 Author Posted December 10, 2020 Scout, I'm so sorry!! Praying for relief on all fronts! 1 1 Quote
SKL Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 We made it to TKD for the 2nd time this week. Yay! I can't remember the last time we got there 2x in one week. I hope we can sustain it! It's such good exercise. But honestly, the only reason it's working is because school sports are all canceled. I might take a short nap and then go for a walk. 3 Quote
