purpleowl Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 It's Thursday! I noticed that not as many people participated in yesterday's thread - hope everyone is doing okay. These threads are for those who'd like accountability and encouragement in doing intentional daily movement. Anyone may join in at any time! 2 Quote
Ausmumof3 Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 (edited) I walked but it was fairly short as it was late when the chores were done. These were interesting I think they are some kind of gall. Edited December 3, 2020 by Ausmumof3 5 Quote
purpleowl Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 I did 1.5 miles. I also did arm work - I didn't want to, but I knew I would have to fess up to you people if I didn't, so I did it. 😄 2 2 Quote
Lady Florida. Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I thought I posted in yesterday's thread but I must not have hit submit. Yesterday was a recovery day for me. I had physical therapy followed by massage therapy (I have regular therapy for my back disc issues). PT involved some serious exercises like planks and lasted 45 minutes so I counted it. Today I spent two hours in our tiny back garden area. Much of that time was spent pulling up shrubs/bushes planted by the builder. I hate them and they have thorns and I have other plans for the area. It involved some heavy duty root pulling so that's my movement for today. I hope to get back to my regular walking exercise tomorrow. 3 Quote
Ottakee Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 I did 30 minutes of incline walking on my treadmill....25 forward and 5 backwards (much slower). Then tonight our group of 4 adoptive families got together for an outdoor, masked and socially distanced hike in the dark. We did just over 3 miles total. The first mile in pitch dark as the trail lights weren't on. Then we tailgated and I contacted the parks people and they came and turned on the lights....and we did another 2 miles. 3 Quote

I did 30 minutes on my stationary bike, pilates (ab/core work--I did a semi-successful I think side plank!), and strength training today. 2 Quote

It was a great time though. We spent 2 1/2 hours outside taking and catching up. With covid we needed to get creative but it was fun. 4 Quote

Jenny in Florida Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Not a great day, honestly. I started off with my walk, a little over 3K, but then ended up needing to do a bunch of chores around the house and ran out of time to do my full 45 minutes on the bike before I needed to sit down to work. I made it about 20 minutes. Had my regular PT appointment in the afternoon, which knocked me out more than expected. Now that my arm has been pronounced "healed (more or less)" and I have regained a lot of flexibility, the therapy has shifted to focusing mostly on strength. It's great, necessary, etc., but yesterday it just left me really tired and sore. I did manage to make my minimum step count, barely, and finished off my remaining 25 minutes on the bike later in the evening, but I had to take it easy to get that done. Mostly, I feel like I technically checked the boxes, but I definitely struggled and felt like I was losing momentum. 1 Quote

Hoping today will be better. *hugs* Quote

Now we are to the hard work part and often I leave feeling worse and more sore than when I went in....but a day or two later I get to a new level of healing. Quote
