Twice this week dd-7yo has lost a chunk of hair. Over the past couple of weeks she's complained of some dizzyness here and there and stomach pains. She tends to be a carbaholic so I've thought she was not eating balanced enough meals and have been pushing that. With the hair falling out this week I'm thinking we need to get it checked out. The first time she lost a chunk I thought it was random some big tangle got pulled out but then to happen again in such a short time seems odd.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I'm thinking I'd like to check thyroid (I have thyroid disease as does my mom, mil, and sil);

blood sugar?

Celiac?

Vitamin levels

Any strong chemical exposure in the last month or so?  I knew someone whose hair fell out from using chemicals in an unventilated space.

Nope

Someone who I talk to just has this with her 4 year old.  After months of labs and watching, they figured out her thyroid was off.

I thought of thyroid too as that is a known symptom and I have it.

My 1st thought was iron deficiency anemia.

Or low iron

Iron is a good suggestion, thank you.

It could be high stress too for hair loss and upset stomach.
A blood draw would give answers for iron and thyroid.
