theelfqueen 5,421
Election Wednesday shall henceforth be pie day. I mean, it could be a celebratory pie or a consolation pie ... but I need a pie. I'm thinking maybe sweet potato or key lime. What kind of pie would you be wanting? I'm an American, so I automatically think sweet pie... but savory could work too... a lovely steak and Guinness pie could do the trick. PrairieSong 4,750
Chicken pot pie...maybe not technically pie but with biscuits on top, like a casserole. Does that count? Apple pie for dessert, but key lime sounds wonderful as well.
Thatboyofmine 9,272
I’d love a homemade blueberry pie. I don’t think I’ve ever had one, but I’ve been craving one for a while.

Loowit 3,220
I would like apple dumplings, which is like pie, but not quite pie.
Lady Florida. 54,783
I'm not really a fan of pie, which is sad because everyone loves pie. The one pie I truly love is key lime, but it must be done right. And it absolutely better not be green! The only gooey fruit pie I like is blueberry because blueberry anything is to die for. stephanier.1765 5,008
I'm with you on the Key Lime. Best pie ever! But now that I'm vegan, apple pie is my go to comfort pie. I love the idea of Election Wednesday being henceforth known as pie day.
Plum 15,482
I vote berry pie because it’s blue and red. Big pie fans here. We prefer pie over cake for birthdays.
theelfqueen 5,421
I went with sweet potato. My house smells amazing.

Familia 1,424
I make a ham/gruyere pie that is full of savory goodness. And, I have the ingredients (well, I’ll use a different cheese, but I am just that type of cook=). Thanks @theelfqueen
theelfqueen 5,421
Now that you say that... I think I have most of what I need to make a Shepherd's pie! Ok now that I'm halfway through making shepherd's pie I remember why I don't make it often... so much work! Lol Edited November 4, 2020 by theelfqueen
*Jessica* 676
Great idea! I have everything on hand for chicken pot pie, so I think I’ll make that for dinner. Maybe peach cobbler for dessert, because it’s kind of like pie without eating two dishes with pie crust on the same day. 😂

mom2scouts 5,693
Well, I just had a chicken pot pie for lunch, but I think a chocolate mousse pie or a Dutch apple pie for Election Wednesday would be good for either celebration and consolation.
happi duck 15,439
If not for covid I'd be dashing out to buy a key lime pie! Instead I am obsessively drinking coffee, eating donuts and hitting refresh!
Kassia 6,467
I'm also not a fan of pie. I do like cream pies with graham cracker crust or oreo crust. Eating pretzels and ice cream all day. No sleep and high anxiety. Blah...
mom31257 11,557
my Caribbean pineapple pie I can't make it anymore because I don't know where to find the extract/flavoring for it. I used to use a Watkins rum extract that was only 18% alcohol. All I can find now is much higher, and it doesn't taste the same. It had more of a butter rum candy flavor.
Dreamergal 6,997
My idea of "pie" is cheesecake. Cheesecake and dark chocolate mousse it is today. Why yes, I believe in eating my feelings. 😊

Look for it in the freezer section at the grocery. Here's a link to see what they look like. Edited November 4, 2020 by klmama
Murphy101 32,689
We have always bought (or if funds were too tight, home made) donuts on voting days. We call it celebrating the sweet taste of freedom.

Dh purchased said pie and the consuming is about to commence. I have had all of the news and election watching I can stand for the night. I now have both key lime and chocolate pies. I refuse to pick sides this early in the election tabulation so I will be consuming both. 🍋🥧 🍫🥧
