what all can you use to make stencil if don't have silhouette cameo

Ive recently started getting into wanting make my own stencil for tshirts so can put pictures or writing on them after i tie dye them everything i see calls for a silhouette cameo which to expensive for me is there any other way to make stencil

Is there a way to buy the sticky paper that silhouette uses or contact paper and then cut out the shapes yourself with an x-acto knife?

I think the cricuit or silhouette sticky back paper is a stronger sticky than contact paper. I know you can buy sheets of it individually - so maybe pick up a sheet and try it before you decide if you need to invest in a machine...

Besides an exacto knife I think you can use a wood burner to cut stencil plastic.  If you wanted it to stick I think there's spray that is temporary adhesive.
