I'm looking for a good quality french press about 32oz capacity.  It would be great it is could be purchased on Amazon to make buying it easier for my in-laws but not necessary.  Anyone have one they love that has lasted long.  Thanks!

Nothing beats the sheer elegance of the Chambord French press, now made by Bodum.

All French Presses function similarly. The Chambord is just the most classic and the most beautiful option.

And are you sure you don't want to give them a 12 cup / 1.5 / 51 oz model???

Mine is over 40 years old, pre-Bodum. Had to replace a few carafes over the years.

This. Had it for years. Sleek, stylish, minimalist.

When I was a university student at Berkeley (one of the few coffee meccas in the USA in the late 1970s) within one week I had two exposures to these beautiful coffeemakers (which were new to my eyes).

The first was at the very elegant St Francis Hotel in San Francisco. My then girlfriend and I ordered coffees at their oh-so-civilized patio cafe that overlooks Union Square. When the coffee arrived we were each presented with our own small Chambords. I thought these were among the most elegant things I'd ever seen.

Days later, I was invited over to the duplex of a long time Berkeley resident who hosted informal salons and at the center of her table was a large Chambord. It wasn't long before I had my own. Used almost daily in the 4 decades plus ever since.

The french press is actually for me.  It is just for a wishlist I'm making for my in-laws.  Fil in particular likes just ordering everything on Amazon, which I get since he shops for his 3 kids, their spouses, and his 10 grandchildren.

I keep waffling back and forth between 51 oz and 32 oz.  If I get 51 oz I will certainly start drinking even more coffee than I already do.  But if I get 32 oz I might regret not getting the larger one.

Dude, get the 51. Life is too short for regrets.

We have the 32 oz. It's so ridiculously easy to make another pot if you need more, and then it's fresh.
How much coffee can you drink in one sitting before it gets cold?

51 oz.

And if one needs less coffee than 51 oz, then simply add less water and fewer grounds. Simple.

I thought you were the scientist
