While waiting at Walmart for a new battery to be installed, I thought I'd do something positive with my time and went to the pharmacy to get a flu shot. It's been a few years since I've had one so maybe what I experienced today is normal or it's normal for this year's flu shot.

After my arm was cleaned with an alcohol wipe, I thought I felt a prick. However, the pharmacists reaches over to grab a syringe and then I definitely know this time I'm getting the shot because I can feel it go in. I passed the first prick off as my imagination misfiring. But later as I removed the bandaid, there really are two pricks in my arm. What would the first one have been for? Is that normal?

Um, weird...did you get a pneumonia shot too, maybe?

Othrwise, random scratch from her nails, or watch, or something?

I got my flu shot monday and just one jab.

I only requested flu and he asked me, as a doublecheck, what I vaccine I was there to get as he checked boxes off on my form. It could have been a watch or whatnot but it looks just like the other jab in my arm. Super weird. If I manifest any strange super powers, you all will know why.

I would definitely go back and show my arm while the prick mark is still there and ask about it. That’s weird!  I’d always wonder about it if I didn’t go back and get more info.

That is very weird.

One year, youngest got two pricks, but it was obvious. The pharmacist did all of our shots. When she got to my youngest DD (she was 8ish), the pharmacist gave her the shot, looked at the syringe, said, "Huh. There's still more in here. Weird." and before I processed what she said, stuck it back into DD's arm. Poor baby's arm swelled up, and she got a fever for a couple of days. Needless to say, DD is not a fan of flu shots now.

Do you have a receipt? They gave me so many papers after I got my shot. I hope you haven’t tossed them. If they did give you shingles, they should have specified it somewhere.

Um, he didn't give me any. I didn't realize that until just this moment. My brain has been broken so I don't know why or how I didn't get any receipts or paperwork. Uh oh.

Did you fill out any paperwork before the shot? We always have to fill out reams of it at Walmart beforehand.

Just one quick sheet. Mostly I was asked questions and it was entered into their system. I thought it was to keep us and them from touching the same things but he picked up the pen I used for that one sheet and used it himself, so I have no clue what was going on. I've been running on exhaustion both physical and mental so I'm sure that contributed greatly to my non situational awareness.

I went with my kids today to the free drive in student clinic where they got their flu shots.  Just one jab.  They got the A and B combined shot.  Now Dh and I need to get our flu shot.

j/k

He couldn't wait for the Covid 19 vaccine and decided to just have chips added to the flu shots. 😂

Seriously, that seems weird and doesn't have anything to do with this year's flu shot. Like others in this thread, I got mine a few weeks ago and it was just like every other year.

Not normal.
I just took ds for multiple shots yesterday, and the number of jabs matched the number of vaccines, with an information statement for each one, including flu.  Just like I got for mine at the UC in February. (Yeah, the nurse was confused by my February shot, too, lol.)

I'd follow up.  And maybe photo document the two prick marks, in case they fade before you get there.  It's likely nothing more than they grabbed a spare/unfilled sharp accidentally and barely poked you before they noticed -- but they should've made you aware at the time.
