As it's finally getting cooler I find myself longing for a warm cocktail in the evening.  It doesn't have to be alcoholic, actually, though I'm looking for the feeling of a luxurious cocktail, kwim?

I've been googling, and most seem to call for a vast number of specialty liquors/liqueurs. I don't have a huge budget for alcohol.  I'm not against buying some things, in fact I expect to but I need to have a plan. My daughter and I wandered into a wine and spirits store (I live in PA so we have specific stores for this) and were just like, huh, this sounds fun but it's $20 and what if we don't like it?

We reliably keep vodka, bourbon, amaretto, kahlua, some spiced rum that technically belongs to the kid away at college (dry campus) and red wine around. (There is also gin and scotch, but I can't abide those, after early drinking experiences that still make me shudder, some over 40 years on.)  I do like a mulled wine now and then.

There are various bitters always around the house, and almost always citrus .  Regular apple cider now too. I did go through a period of enjoying Angry Orchard and similar hard ciders, but the carbonation kills me now. Sigh.

Any favorites?

Not on your list, but in winter I like hot chocolate with a dash of creme de menthe.

Ooh, now I don't like mint, BUT I thank you for this because my daughter would love it!

My list was really just informational, not meant to be limiting. Sort of a jumping-off point. Happy to have surprises!
