I don't know if the guy is guilty or not (and there are certainly questions, by both US and Canadian immigration lawyers) - but there is much irony in this case. 

Here's the link for his B&B.  It's named the Smuggler's Inn, and he's run it for 20 years.

He was arrested for human smuggling, and is facing charges in Canada.

 

There is no wall/fence/etc. between his property and Canada.  There is a road that runs along the border on the Canadian side.  He's probably a mile or so from the Blaine truck border crossing.  (which is a similar distance to the main one on I5).   So - it's a major crossing point from WA to BC.
