Amy, I'm glad I'm not the only one with "organize the tutoring stuff" on a semi-regular basis. Oof. At some point I'll hit on an organization style/level/method that stays organized week-to-week......

So, my today:
...coffee
...compile grades/"yes this kid finished last year" letter for a kid/parent who just emailed me asking for this
...rebuild my binder, b/c I scanned the wrong pages for the mom the other day, so had to take out the right ones, scan them, email them, and now need to put them back in the binder
...tweak/fix the list of "stuff to teach the 4 yr old" for tomorrow
...make the US/Standards equivalency chart for Singapore 2 so I can put the book back in my bag
...school with DS - history homework, biology homework, language arts, math
...finish a few more quilt blocks (down to last 4 to go)
...lunch: dh's domain
...dinner: pulled pork (in the crockpot already) and roasted carrots
...after dinner: TV? not sure
...laundry: fold the stuff from yesterday, wash more
...remember to make an assignment page for DS, for DH to help him follow on Monday when I'm gone b/c if not, they text me during class to find stuff
...probably more I am forgetting

Good morning!

It's foggy this morning - can't see the valley below us at all. My horses have been galloping around like colts, including old man Snorri. His arthritis must be feeling okay. The leaves are really starting to turn color now. The sugar maple in our lower pasture is a gorgeous shade of golden orange.🍁

  • office work - go through credit card bills, get several things ready to send out, do some banking, redo a govt. form for our group health insurance because of a mistake they made on the first one (👎 to govt. paperwork)
  • schedule an appt.
  • place a Schwan's order
  • dust & vacuum
  • wash dog bed covers
  • water plants
  • dinner: ?? enchiladas, maybe?

Happy Thursday!  I hope I get a lot done today so I can be happy for the weekend!

Done:

  • Set alarms and only ignored the first 3.5 hours or so.
  • Working on coffee 2.
  • Sent out 2 reports I promised overnight.
  • Woke the kids (multiple times) and helped with tech issues.
  • Put in a load of laundry for tonight's band gig.
  • Put away some dishes.
  • Texted trumpet teacher re his request for football game tickets (not allowed).
  • A little reading.
  • Dropped a bin of cashews all over the carpet, cleaned them up, and ate them.  Hopefully did not ingest too much human hair.
  • Caught up on emails, calendar, social media, and news.

To do:

  • Review and complete numerous work reports, cash transfers, etc.
  • Finish the laundry and make sure we have everything for marching band gig.
  • Force kid2 to take a dang shower before activities.
  • Phone call to election officials.
  • Reschedule dentist appointment.
  • Pack a lot of stuff in the car.  Don't forget anything.  Add snacks and water kuz kids are dumb.
  • Kid2 has horse riding.  Leave about 3:30, return home about 4pm.  Work for 15 minutes & pack computer.
  • Kid1 has soccer practice 4:45-6:30 (hopefully the coach lets them go at 5:30).  Leave home at 4:20.  Find out what she wants to eat between soccer and band - there won't be time to stop in between.
  • Drive to the barn, maybe work in car for 15 minutes while waiting for Kid2, grab food, drive to school and send the girls inside to change into band clothes, leave for football field by 5:40.
  • Both kids have marching band performance at football game.  Arrive at 6pm, pre-game is at 6:45.  Maybe work in car for a while if my tailbone doesn't complain too much.
  • Try to get my 3+ mile walk in there somewhere.
  • Probably more work & kids' homework in the night.

Late to the thread today.
Ds has a sore throat so I kept him home from school. Struggling through math corrections with him = not fun. I think his symptom is just from allergy drainage, but now he needs a doctor's note to go back to school. No how am I taking him into the ped's office or urgent care, which are filled with actually sick people. We'll get a friend or family member doc to sign off on him this weekend. It won't hurt him to rest some, though he'll get behind in school for sure. School needs to be prepared to include kids who are out sick by Zoom.

I need to do the tutoring notebook organizing too! But no time today!

Done:
decimals with a reluctant learner
AHG things - lots!
cooked bacon
grocery
gas in my car
dropped off my car to get a tire patched
forgot an appt - rats!
bread is on second rise

To do:
Clear my inbox
Make dinner
More AHG stuff - lots! Probably meeting in the cold drippy outside today rather than Zooming bc we all hate Zoom, and we will have to sometimes in the winter. Pop up shelters and rain boots are on for today!
Pick up Ds' Rx
Pick up Dd's raincoat!
Pick up my car
AHG
collect my thoughts for Friday

Day not going great.  Couldn't do Tai Chi class because my shoulders hurt.  At least they are recorded and maybe this weekend when it warms up.  Missed OT because I am kind of out of it.  Need to get ready for my doctor's appointment.  Need to call psych to reschedule.  Need to call primary because they didn't call back and still need letter about dh's vitamin d deficiency.

Oh and dd2 is sick with I don't know what and I am worried.

Did History with DS (and he did math)

That took gobs longer than I thought, so bumped Language Arts down in the week (we get through gobs of it, in short amounts of time, so this is fine)

Heard from DS19 that oh, yes, D&D is tomorrow after all, okay? (at 4:45 pm)

Ran to the grocery store for the requisite drinks, chips, buns (b/c the drinks need time to get cold) and DH will run in the morning for rotisserie chicken to toss in the crockpot with BBQ sauce for sandwiches for them

Stopped by Michael's to return some items and grab a couple little tidbits

Need to do Biology with DS before we eat

Found a cheap, wood bed on FB so messaged, it's available still, in our  neighborhood, going to pick it up when the neighbor texts that she's home; that will be better than the metal frame (w/o slats) we had on hand for my sister, as DH needed to go buy wood for the slats, and this is roughly equivalent in cost, w/o the work

Got the first load of laundry folded/put away (from yesterday), the next one dried/hung up, and the last one in the dryer, so calling that done for the day

had PT appt.

stopped at store and got the chicken I needed and a couple of other ingredients for tonight's dinner

did phase 1 of cat's bathroom cleaning

Did most of the bunny cage cleaning (still have to finish later after dinner)

Bunnies seem to be doing fine now.  Not sure what was going on

Margaret, I'm so sorry!!

Scout, I hope your ds feels better soon!

Christina, I hope your dd feels better soon, too!

Reader, I've never been the most organized person when it comes to stuff. I love organizing things like our co-op schedule. I feel so inadequate with other things. I do the Zoom tutoring at our kitchen table because it's the best lighting in the house during the day. I am keeping a large crate for my books in the corner; however, the chairs beside it that we don't ever use end up stacked with things, too.

Although, I happened to have a really great idea to do my meal planning and grocery list that I wished I had thought of years ago. Maybe there is hope for me.

That is exactly our current set-up. DH is working from home, so he has half the dining table covered with his "office." I'm teaching 3 co-op classes (in person) and tutoring the 4 yr old (in person) and have my laptop set up across from DH and a crate/wheeled cart in a corner with my stuff. (plus shelves upon shelves upon shelves in the bedroom).

It's getting there, as far as organized-ish, but I think the absolute visual clutter of having it on my dining table (which is the front room of the house, which is the one area I ever (used to) decorate for holidays, which I now can't....) is getting to me. :sigh:

I did buy multiples of those cheap, great bags Ktgrok mentioned the other day, and that is helping too. Everything has a place to live, at the moment....I  just don't love the "where" that we've landed on. :sigh:

Tweaked and re-printed the stuff for the 4 yr old for tomorrow, and finished biology with DS15.

Need to gather the specific materials for tomorrow and them I am done and DH & I are hanging out as the kids are doing various "their own thing"s

Oh, and got the bed picked up for my sister, and it's in the garage.

AHG meeting was excellent. We have a great troop. Weather was cool and cloudy and damp, but no rain.

Dinner was good. So was my square of Lily's chocolate!

Kids are watching a movie. Ds will not be going to school tomorrow bc I didn't have time to get a doctor's note for him today. Will set that up with a friend tomorrow.  Not a bad thing for Ds to have a couple of slower paced days. He needs the sleep!

Next up: listen to a podcast, then read.
