Glad the weekend is here.  I have a lot to do!

  • Homework organizing / help - I already spent an hour or so after midnight with Kid1, submitting things that were late.  We severely need a system.
  • Laundry - washed whites, so Kid1 will have clean uniforms for tomorrow's game.  Will probably wash more after the game.
  • Kid2 has horse riding.
  • Kid1 has a JV soccer game.
  • Both kids will play (marching band) at halftime for the girls' varsity soccer game.  They can't do all the football games, so they are doing soccer games!  So, there is a lot to get ready.  Hopefully I have things reasonably organized already.
  • Watch church services etc. with the kids.
  • Do some more client reports that I promised "this week" (or last week).  File and organize and get a head start on things due Monday.
  • Lots of personal stuff, especially figuring out how to stay informed about my kids' school responsibilities.
  • Yoga, walking, reading, etc.

Good morning! I have been to Home Depot, Walgreens and the Post Office already.  HD was out of the mulch I like- so I am debating whether to order it or have it delivered in bulk. The fence is complete- two gates to be put in, and pickets need to be painted. I plan to be outside most of the day with the tiller and moving some flagstones. It would have been good to have some mulch- but I will figure it out. dh is better, but not ready for yard work- ds3 can help with heavy things this afternoon.

  • finish second cup of coffee
  • till beds near porch- put down the mulch I have
  • maybe run out to local stone/mulch place and see what they have- their supplies have been low this month
  • ds3 hit with friend- so no car for the morning
  • figure out some edging by sidewalk
  • watch a little college football
  • read?
  • not sure what else

Have a great day!

Well, I barely finished two of the very small areas before the tiller stopped working. Brand new and first time using it. So disppointing and the support chat left much to be desired. Also- everyplace is out of what I need. So today ended up not being very productive at all.

  • order more supplies- done
  • wait for ds3 to come home so we can go order mulch
  • figure out edging solution- random concrete is making this much harder than it should be
  • probably shower and get back to the sewing room
  • figure out new list of things to get done

Listening to Navy/Tulane. I always chuckle at the ads--Boeing, Huntingon-Ingalls (they built dd's ship), and Lockheed Martin. U of WY always has division of wildlife ads. I'd like to watch the game, but you have to have a tv provider to do that. We don't have tv here

write kids

work on Scout photo collage

decide if I want to tackle backstrap weaving with the LEAD kids

nag dh about Rendezvous stuff

Our whole city is filled with defense and space contractor billboards.  Can you guess what my city has?  Army Material Command, Missile Defense Agency. Marshall Nasa. ATf. FBi. Etc

So yesterday we had a long drive from Omaha to Tulsa.  Near Bartlesville OK, we did have a quick visit to Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Park.  It is a great museum which I wish we had more time to spend.

Today we checked out and headed to the fantastic Gilcrease Museum. Then we started out to Little Rock.

I think we will visit Petit Jean State Park to visit and then onto to the hotel.

Tomorrow is the 350 mile drive home.

Thanks for the info, Jean. I'm experimenting tonight, taking one medication at bedtime instead of dinner time. I normally only test once a day, but have been doing several times to look for patterns. I will try the 3 am test to see how my sugars are then.

Dh has had golf and football on TV this afternoon. Nice background hum. Sounds normal. I know the world is not normal right now, but it is nice to have a fall Saturday afternoon feel like it is.

Back again.

Anyone else feel like they deserve a commendation just for surviving the first half of the day?

I was doing pretty well with all the logistics of 2 kids doing 3 activities, repairing a broken instrument, and a few other things.  (Well, other than having to have yet another discussion about how rotten my kids are thanks to my poor parenting.  Par for the course these days.)

About halfway through the kids' activities, I got a call from my boss, who was copied on an email from a client about something that someone else is behind on.  Apparently this is my fault, and not only that, I need to be haunted about it at noon on Saturday while I'm trying to have some nice family time.  Needless to say it ruined my mood for hours, but I have finally gotten home and responded and hopefully can move on.  That same client is the one I promised a report to "this week" and it needs to go out today.  (Not related to the complaint, but still.  Motivation is low.)

I told my kids to clean out my car starting an hour ago.  I don't know if they are doing it or not.  I just want to take a nap.

We're celebrating here this afternoon because the last of the three dogs we've been trying to find was finally caught! Poor baby had to survive on her own for two weeks in the woods, but she is safe now. I am so glad they all survived being dumped by an evil human.

Working in the kitchen now. Roasted mushrooms, delicata squash, and a big tray of sweet potato cubes. Made wild and brown rice and a pot of cannellini beans. I am washing a sinkful of dishes and then going out to feed the horses. Will assemble the soup when I get back in.
