How are things in Arlington, VA?

I am supposed to attend a funeral at Arlington National Cemetery the first week of October. We would need to fly in. For those that are actually in the area, how is it in terms of safety and Covid restrictions?

My dd lives there. I don’t know exactly where the numbers are, but compliance with masking is near total (at least in buildings) and safety precautions are respected. People are compliant. Are you coming in through Dulles? I haven’t been to the airport since February, but I’m betting they are scrupulous about it.

I'm in DC. Numbers are pretty good in the region overall. Masking is pretty compliant. Stores are all basically open. Restaurants are limited dining or patio, but I think on the Virginia side it seems more lax than here. Our experiences in Virginia have been pretty good on that front too, though we haven't been inside there as much as DC and MD. We're not in a hot spot.

I have heard that airports are so lax overall. Masking enforced, but nothing beyond that. Like, supposedly no one asks where you've been like nearly everywhere else on the planet now. But I think that's a whole other issue.

Wow, that surprises me. 

When I returned from France end of Feb, they were asking if you had been to China. I remembered it because it seemed so incongruous at the time:

Me: I was in France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Security: At any point in your trip were you in China?

Me: ?

I also thought it was weird they were asking only about China while Italy and France were rising exponentially.

I was in Dulles a couple of weeks ago laying over on a flight back from my parents. Almost everyone was masked in the airport and lounges but the United flight from IAD to BOS was about 90% full.
