Even the doll of the year that shared her name. I said she should at least keep that. Nope. Well I’ll just set that one aside for own sentimental value. She is going to be SOOO happy 20 years from now when you pull that out to give to her! I really appreciate and treasure (now) the books that my mom saved from my childhood -- at the time I was a kid I "knew" I would never want them again... So glad mom knew best! 😉 5 Quote

historically accurate Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 Eek! She has a Caboodle and a Walkman. My girls have outgrown AG (they get their hair done and clothes changed only about 2x a year now). 5 Quote

mom2scouts Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Um, I was already married in 1986. I will say that I love that Pacman arcade game. I spent too much of my high school years in video arcades. 1 Quote
RootAnn Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I think 10-going-on-11 was too young for a Trapper-Keeper. Source: I was 10-turning-11 in 1986. Trapper Keepers were for middle school, which was 6th-8th or junior high 7th-8th/7th-9th back then. Quote
Paige Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I had trapper keepers in elementary school. I'm a little younger than you but we loved our trapper keepers. In middle school we were using normal binders. I love her kaboodle but I think the Care Bears nightgown (that I swear I had!) is grossly overpriced. 3 Quote

Jentrovert Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I just can't get over the fact that a time that I clearly remember is being called "historical" . . . that word should be reserved for times I wasn't alive, or at the very least, times I was too young to remember! 😐 Reminds me of the first time I heard the radio refer to songs, that I remember the release of, as "classics". I don't even know how to feel. 😂 Dh (almost a decade my junior) will have a field day with the jokes. P.s. The jokes are a mutual thing. Despite his youth, he acts like an old man and people often think we're the same age. 2 Quote
