Earthmerlin
Howdy. I’m looking for a book of famous/notable Native Americans. I’d like a compilation of people that gives a concise (but not overwhelming) summary. It’s for an 11 year old & I don’t want to buy individual books on each person. Any ideas? There is a short blurb about each one. I think that each speech gives a remarkable insight into the life of who's speaking. We used this book in conjunction with the Dover coloring book of Great Native Americans, which also gives a short biography of each person. https://store.doverpublications.com/0486296075.html
Lori D.
I've not seen such an anthology. If willing to use individual books and at a lower reading level (gr. 3-5), the Native American Biography series (now long out of print) from Troll Assoc. publisher might work: Sitting Bull, Warrior of the Sioux (Fleischer) Tecumseh: Shawnee War Chief (Fleischer) Pontiac: Chief of the Ottawas (Fleischer)Sequoyah: Cherokee Hero (Oppenheim)Osceola: Seminole Warrior (Oppenheim) Black Hawk: Frontier Warrior (Oppenheim) Squanto: The Pilgrim Adventure (Jassen) Chief Joseph: Leader of Destiny(Jassen) Sacajawea: Wilderness Guide (Jassen) Pocahontas: Girl of Jamestown (Jassen)

Earthmerlin
It took a bit of digging but I think I found one. Based on the other books in this series, it’ll be a bit terse but it’s a starting point. Yippee!!
Monica_in_Switzerland
Not quite what you're looking for, but we really enjoyed the book "Indians" by Tunis. The book is about tribal cultures, grouping tribes by geographic locations, which helps to link behavior to environment, and it features well-done pen and ink illustrations.
