The board formatting looks very odd this morning. I can't see the like icons at all - they are just gray circles, at least on my phone.

Today:

  • Ds to school
  • Dd to tutorial
  • Walk!
  • Deskwork
  • Make dinner
  • 11:30 phone call
  • Library
  • Reorganize a binder
  • Tutor 1 student
  • CSA box
  • Pick up Dd

Good morning!

I'm not crazy about the like icon situation. I can't see what I'm clicking, so I'm worried I'll accidentally do something horrible like laugh at someone's bad news. And I had to check the emojis right away - I'm still holding out hope that maybe someday we can get our old ones back!

  • office work - this will be most of my day
  • paddock cleanup? We have a mess of mucky, wet hay to clean up.
  • check on an order of prescription dog food that hasn't arrived
  • write a check for hay
  • vacuum if I have time
  • dinner: leftovers

I can't say I love the look of the board. It seems so much brighter to me, and I prefer softer colors on the computer screen.

I slept in today.

  • coffee
  • meals
  • school with ds
  • laundry
  • tutor a student late afternoon
  • Zoom meeting for children's ministry at church
  • prep for math classes tomorrow

(the board looks normal to me.....now I'm worried it will mess up....?) (are you guys on phone/tablets/or computers??  I'm on my laptop and it's like normal....)

My list today:
...coffee and coffee and coffee
...double check that I really do have all my prep for tomorrow done
...fold/put away laundry that's been sitting since Saturday
...do school with DS (totally forgot till scrolling through here and saw it mentioned...hence, coffee....)
...cut out butterfly applique's, and press/trim the blocks I sewed
...work on lesson planning for Friday
...email/call my dad to see about this dinner on Saturday (time? place? etc?)
...email assorted parents that haven't paid for September yet
...umm.....I feel like probably I am forgetting something(s) but that's all I can think of right now
...lunch -- DH
...dinner -- me; I think it's chicken lasagna roll-ups, but I think I should have taken the chicken out yesterday, so check the list and swap around

Have a good day today!

I don’t have a nice, neat list for today (yet.) It’s probably going to be a real dumpster fire.

We’ve had multiple house projects going on, so there are tools and supplies everywhere, and mess breeds mess around here, so there’s tons of that to deal with. And dh just left on a work trip for a week.

School needs to get done.

I need to make tons of French toast for the freezer. I placed my grocery order before dh left, and now I have to deal with all those eggs and bread that are taking over my fridge and counter.

Margaret, I'm so very sorry!!

Reader, it looks different on our desktop computer (using Chrome) and on my iPhone. I decided to look on Microsoft Edge, and it looks the same as Chrome does this morning. What browser are you using?

I've got the new weird version on my desktop and phone, but not on my iPad.

Good morning! ds3 snagged a slot at the DMV- not sure if it is the right one- the choices are very odd and not very clear as to what appointment is needed. Ah well, we have all the paperwork ready- so here's hoping... We only have one car at home- so I will be spending a lot of time here, I predict.

Margaret- prayers for you.

  • coffee/paper
  • DMV
  • race to dentist (will certainly be late- but I don't care so much- this office has been a pain in the neck to deal with)
  • home-
  • ds3 will spread his wings and take the car to gym and practice (provided all goes well)
  • quilt, read, crochet
  • wait for shipments of plants
  • get plants in garden
  • not sure what else- probably stress cleaning
  • pasta for dinner?

Have a great day!

Ds3 has his license! He took off for the gym when we got home from the CLOSED dentist office. I mean, what the heck? Called and left a message- but no word back. I would take this as a bad sign... We have bottom of the barrel insurance and are extremely limited in our choice of providers- so I guess it's back to the drawing board.

When ds3 gets back, I will be headed to the library to pick up some holds. At least that is working right!

  • library
  • check delivery window for plants
  • laundry
  • finish first Christmas pillow
  • ds3- practice
  • read and wait for plants
  • clean a little

Finished a basic plan for PreK for the 4 yr old girl I "tutor" (based on the public school guidelines, since that's where she'll be going next year for K)

Got DS started on Math

DH is cooking lunch, so going to eat lunch, nap, then do the rest of school with DS

Chicken *was* sorted into smaller bags already, so took that out to thaw for the originally planned dinner for tonight

Coffee!

It's going to be a long day--didn't sleep well at all.

I had a long talk with a friend yesterday, when I realized that I can no longer sit. At all. I just feel like a hamster in a wheel. He suggested anxiety. Ya' think? Nothing to be anxious about around here! Every day, someone asks if dh is okay. No. He's not. He has terminal cancer. He's been hiding it quite well, but it's really obvious now. He's lost probably half his muscle mass. He's deluded into thinking he's just fine and he doesn't have it. Yeah, you do.

I have LEAD today, and I don't really have enough planned. I'm going to stretch out everything. It's going to be a gorgeous day, so if nothing else, maybe we'll take a walk! We're starting our human body stuff and doing map work, along with reading about Sargon.

No clue on dinner--I think I'll text dh later (he's driving) and ask him to get out a pot roast.

Need to write the kids

Looking forward to reading in the middle of the day--it's so quiet with 20 people all reading at one time.

Hope the new ink comes--need to print out Rendezvous maps

Need to pick up a flat rate box at the PO--putting together a care package for dd

Need to call the lady who is subbing for LEAD--we've been playing phone tag. She must think I'm a ditz. Oh wait--I am!

Need to remember to take photos of the kids today. I haven't taken many the last few days.

Need to mend the Scouts' US flag.

Hope Troop 491 agrees to do the "campfire" (propane--we're in a burn ban) for Rendezvous. I just don't have the kids to do it.

Off to go teach!

What do you mean that you can't sit?  Is it painful or that you feel driven to get up and do things?  If it is tge second, it is a typical copung mechanism when things are worrying or not going well.  And if it is pain, U can help you figure out that too.  Or maybe it is stiffness.

Prayers and hugs to you.

Our dental isn't very good either and I really have to look into the federal dental programs we are also eligible for.  I know, however when I tried last year sine of them mentioned not doing pre-existing conditions.  My dentist doesn't participate in any insurance but he is fantastic and everyone in my family is hoping to him because we used to use one that was in our insurance and that practice was doing sketchy stuff.  We end up paying less at an honest dentist.

Took almost a case of cat food to City Hall to donate for animals affected by wildfires.  It was nice to see a pretty big pile there of donations.

Tried to take stuff to donate to Goodwill since I thought that perhaps by now that they were taking donations.  But nope.  The donation area was blocked off.  Oh well.  I tried.

Spent most of the afternoon figuring out our new accounting program. It was slow going at first, but I was able to get quite a bit done. I still have about an hour of office work left.

Then we will get the horses fed early, as dd has her violin lesson this evening.

I don't have to cook tonight. Hooray!

Napped

Finished school with DS for the day, minus "study flashcards" which I need to go purchase so he/we can make them

Running to the store with DH for project stuff he needs, index cards I need, and possibly Walgreens for this one real sudafed that they have (it's a Walgreens brand combo that has sudafed and some other something, and it's the closest thing to an allergy/sinus drug we had in Brazil that is fabulous). I'm down to 5 tablets.

Triple check after I get back that I have everything ready for tomorrow. I think so.

Ordered a couple "just because" gifts for the girls. dd2 is definitely struggling. The online format is terrible for her and the covid regulations are absolutely sucking all the joy out of this first semester. It was already going to be a struggle (first semester of D1 swimming is hard, hard, hard) but now it is not much fun either.

ds3 went to the store after practice and forget the one item needed for dinner. So we are having pasta. I am laughing pretty hard about that.

The plants came and are all in (22 perennials). I showered and am going to read until dinner.

Hugs to your DD, Jen; college in the age of Covid, particularly for those on campus, is just absolutely nuts and depressing all around. A "just because" gift sounds like a good idea.

Dinner is *finally* in the oven. Someone remind me to actually look at recipes before I meal-plan them. My "easy" meal was very much not. Ha. but, it will be delicious, so there's that.

Got index cards and real sudafed from Walgreen's. DH did not find any fall plants at Lowe's.

A book order arrived, so that's put away.

A check came in the mail for DS, from our doctor's office.....? I assume we paid a copay for something that should have not been one....(that's the amount), but....? It did not come with any kind of letter explaining it, so.

Because dinner took forever to prepare (over.an.hour.) I have not actually had time to *make* the flash cards yet, so going to start that now while the dinner actually bakes.

After dinner, probably we will watch more episodes of Alone, if DS19 is done enough with schoolwork for the day. If not, maybe the available kids and DH will video game and I can work on the sewing project that I've not gotten to yet today. My sister (very likely) is moving in with us in just over a week, and I will be giving up my sewing room to accommodate her, so......trying to get lots done while I (easily) can.

Howdy, better late than never!?

I got a fair amount of work done the past two days, but still not enough.  Everyone wants everything!  Why can't I work at a steady pace like normal people?

The kids were on their own for school today, so I hope they are doing their best to keep up.  I had planned to at least review their emails and syllabi, but I couldn't get to it in between all the work and activities.

After school, my kids had a music lesson and horse riding.  Now they are supposed to be doing homework ... but they might be watching TV ... guess I'd better go check.  I did force them to clean up the room they like to trash.

Still need to do:

  • One load of laundry.
  • Yoga & walking.
  • Several client projects.
  • Whatever personal things I have energy for after all that.
