@dmmetler  I just read this article and thought it was interesting that the research is based in the U's psy dept.  It reminded me about your dd.  Thought I'd share.

DD was planning to go to the Animal Behavior Society conference this past summer, which, of course, happened only via streaming talks online (to give the presenters the credit, at least). It really is fascinating (one of my favorite talks from the conference in Jan was a researcher who has been working on quantity recognition in a specific species of Asian turtle. What I found coolest was that the steps described could have been right out of Ronit Bird 🙂
